Just for fun, but how do you guys expect the classes to end. I've got a FIM World Championship domination, but obviously I am bias. Also going a little on the speed of last years FIM versus AMA thing.

MX1

Cairoli FIM
Dungey AMA
Metcalfe AMA
Paulin FIM
Ramon FIM

MX2
Roczen FIM
Musquin FIM
Canard AMA
Wilson AMA
Osborne FIM

Open
Desalle FIM
Townley AMA
Philippaerts FIM
Short AMA
Boog FIM

USA with this would win in my opinion, but like last year it won't be easy.

Ok, here is my guess (with a little bit of wishfull thinking):

MX1:

Cairoli FIM

Dungey AMA

Metcalfe AMA

Paulin FIM

Leok FIM

MX2

Roczen FIM

Canard AMA

Musquin FIM

Wilson AMA

Osborne FIM

Open

Desalle FIM

Nagl FIM (with holeshots in each of his moto)

Short AMA

Townley AMA

Boog FIM

Desalle
Metcalfe
Paulin

MX2

Roczen
Canard
Wilson
Musquin
Van Horebeek

MX3

Desalle
Townley
Short
Phillipaerts
Nagl

But really that's for the saturday's races where we will see a real man to man in each class even though there is that random gate pick for qualifier . The sunday races are too random to really be able to compare riders with team tactics for gate picks

Overall it will reastically be another

MX3

But like people said it is hard to tell on the Sunday with gate pics based on the teams and not rider speed...IF Roczen has a bad gate pic and start.. He may not catch Musquin, Canard etc... same with Cairoli and his gate pic compared to Dungey anyone of 4 or five could win each class

I thought Phillipaerts was out with torn ligaments in his knee or something?

Nah, think it was the cheeky handful of Bolivian marching powder mixed with a few Prozac and washed down with half a bottle of JD....

Seriously though, I think there'll be a few curious cries of "Who's THAT guy!?" in Colorado if Brad manages a decent start or two. Don't expect much from Jake if Im honest, and as for Wilson... think I'll feel a bit embarrassed if he wins a moto. Bit of an odd team for us this year really.

Surface wise this track probably resembles Teutschenthal, Germany the closest on the GP calendar which is where I'm drawing some of my picks from taking in to account rider performance there the past 3 years.

MX1

1. Dungey (winning one moto)

2. Cairoli (winning one moto)

3. Nagl

4. Metcalfe

5. Ramon

MX2

1. Roczen (winning one moto)

2. Canard (all over the back of Roczen)

3. Wilson*

4. Frossard*

5. Van Horebeek

MX3

1. Desalle

2. Short

3. Townley

4. Regal

5. Boog

one place USA will have all the euro clowns is starting ability.

the 'maircans know how to get of the line quick and sprint for 30 minutes. euro's usually start slow and pick up pace towards the end.

Here's a tip... Smile
Team USA will be wearing the numbers 1,2,3 at the 2011 MXoN!
9/14/2010 4:12pm Edited Date/Time 9/14/2010 4:16pm
Starting ability? If they start behind all the euros no amount of human speed can get you around a GOOD defensive rider controlling the pace for the first few laps. Going juuuust slow enough to make you think a pass is easy and just fast enough to get in your way. The question will be is anyone good enough to either run with us (USA) or good at riding a wide bike. I don't give a damn who has faster lap times. Metcalfe already proved you can beat Dungey without being faster than him on just lap times alone.

I'm not much of a bettin' man. I think we have as strong (if not stronger) team than at most any time in the past (I'm not saying "EVER", so don't go hatin'). With a little good luck and not much bad...we should retain the Chamberlain. I just hope everyone (even the foreigners) stay safe and have a blast.Wink

Where do you get the up to date list of riders/country? The list I’m getting off the Red-Bull site http://www.redbullmxon.com/nations-teams.html does not have Tony Cairoli listed.

Please advice

Scratch Pourcel MX2 racewinner Gautier Paulin has been called up to the French team for this year’s FIM Motocross of Nations. The Yamaha rider showed strong form during the second half of the 2010 MX2 season, scoring four podium results in the final five rounds, including victory at the Dutch Grand Prix. And now the 20-year-old will step up to MX1 machinery when he represents his country at the end-of-season MXoN event, replacing the injured Christophe Pourcel.

It's a shame Holland has no team... Jeffrey Herlings is coming STRONG. Having said that:

MX1 MX2 MX3

Dungey Canard Townley
Cairoli Musquin Short
Nagl Wilson DeSalle

I believe the best racing will be in the MX2 class: Canard, Musquin, Wilson, Roczen, Van Horbeek, even Zach Osbourne. Very deep class. Should be epic!

I think the idea Tony not going is so sick we have chose to ignore it (like some rape victims pretend it didn't happen), but the reality is that the latest news was/is that because of the Italian fuck-upederation (I blame them solely) he isn't going...Angry

But geoff should know this, and him posting TA as a winner might be an insider indication on what's cocking? Smile

Man you're out of the loop. FIM, Youthstream, Italian federation and Yamaha/KTM had a little "chat" in Fermo and they're going now, save Philly because he hurt himself so Guarneri is back on the team!

I wish I was going just to see Brad race it...I think GB are a fast.. outside shot at the podium.. if they get good starts and don't crash, Jakes fitnees is good for the MX3 back to back.. Wilson went 1-1 at Pala and Brad with a good start and no crashes could be top 5/6 in MX1...

Team Ireland haven't a bad team too. if Martin Barr gets a good bike for MX2 he will be right there battling Osborne I think... Crockard is back to form in MX1 and Edmonds always rises to the occasion in MX3...

Top 3 from the British MX2 champs at the nations...

USA with this would win in my opinion, but like last year it won't be easy.

As for it not being easy it never has been but we (USA) have taken our early success and built on it really performing as a team, not to mention having "The Man" in our corner almost every year. Stars and Stripes FTW!
