Glad you lived through it
Good work getting the engine comments out of Prado, you could tell he didn’t really want to say.
I love you Lewis.
Right. If anyone didn't catch it, Jorge says his bike is too slow. Not something you hear a lot about a factory 450

I view it with a side eye. To me it sounds like an excuse. I’m pretty sure Savatgy has beaten him on his non-factory bike. He’s got a year to learn, no need to put the blame on the bike at this point IMO.
Sounded to me like it’s just what he’s used to? The story Lewis told about Herlings previously saying that if he had Prado’s engine he’d die, gives it credit imo.
Then Prado backed it up by saying most riders don’t like too much power, but he feels he knows how to use it and take advantage of it, particularly on starts.
So do you think the factory KX450 is holding Prado back? He could go faster on another brand but the bike is too slow? I don’t buy it.
Prado is legit, I don’t think his bike is too slow.
so Jorge is like Eli , they need a damn rocketship for a bike 😂😂 i remember coop said Eli’s bike was too damn fast for him , let’s mellow this down some
So you know more about Prados bike than he does. That’s pretty cool.
Funny, now the team might actually do something. Doubt it though.
Interesting if Prado needs more power. Some green bikes in the 250 class running quicker times than him.
I like Prado and want to see him excel in the states, but find it hars to believe any 450 is short on power.
Im probably wrong however.
Prado and excuses. Love how everyone is also saying he’s not used to race day schedule here. That didn’t seem to bother Jeffrey at Ironman.
I'm a huge Prado fan and I want him to do well but I wasn't expecting anything from him this year. Next year is a different story. With that said, I don't think a faster bike is going to do anything for him just yet. Maybe he's looking for more torque or power in a different range, but I don't see Factory Kawi having any problem producing a fast bike.
Prado would be going 1-1 if only he had a faster bike. You’re right. Factory Kawasaki has a famously underpowered 450.
You’re literally arguing that his bike is holding him back.
Dunno about Prado’s bike, but Nicoletti is on record saying he rode (last year maybe) Anderson’s bike at Club and found the power underwhelming
Man I do like Prado but the way he was praising the Kawi on the Gypsy podcast and saying it's so much better than the Gasgas already even before doing one race on it kinda backfired a bit. I get it, you obviously only talk good about your new team, but still it seemed a bit over the edge.
What's the thing lately with top riders looking absolutely dialed in on austrian bikes, meanwhile they can't wait to get rid of them?
Someone tell Kawi to cut some more vent holes in that side panel to let errr eat some more. A lot of the shootout tests said the kawi felt choked up and more like a 350. Take the whole airbox cover off, give him the power of a old school KTM 525, fuck it lol
Like maybe someone has more knowledge on that, but did Prado even get to test the Kawi once before he signed the deal? When you go off his Gypsy podcast, it seems like he really just started riding the Kawi for the first time during the winter in 2024 after he moved to the US.
Anyways, I hope it will just get better from here.
Pit Row
Fellas you know when riders talk about the engine package, it doesn’t necessarily mean more power, it most likely means different power, different delivery and characteristics.
These things are super adjustable now and a package can be tuned to any rider’s needs, as they should be.
This time, it actually is the need for more raw speed. Not mapping.
