Nice to see Dylan Walsh up front, with little seat time and new to him tracks and team.

Nicoletti got the holeshot. Was quickly passed by Pettis. A few moments later Wright made an outside pass on Phil and started chasing Pettis.

Wright got close then lappers got in the way and he lost some time. With 8 minutes to go they battled for the lead. Wright made the pass and went off track and let him retake the lead.

Wright had to reset and start chasing Pettis again. Both guys were pushing and made mistakes.

With 2 laps to go they battled for the lead again. Just before the last lap Wright made a mistake and let him go.

Lars van Berkel made his way from 10th or so up to 6th.

It's only the first round, but Phil has a lot of work to do if he wants to compete for wins. Finishing 2 minutes behind Pettis is not going to sit well with him.

Wright and Pettis need to GTFO of Canada.

When asked “what would be a season disappointment be?”  Said “not finishing behind those two”. Seems about what he expected. I think thats a solid finish, hopefully he can get some wins this season!

Dylan and Jess did 2:12 laps, Phil was at a 2:21. That's wild.

Kilroy got the holeshot followed by Rempel and McNabb.

Walsh made the pass on McNabb for 3rd shortly after the start. McNabb immediately repassed him and made quick work of Rempel for 2nd.

Racine started just outside the top 10 and made his way up to 6th.

Viney went down when he was running 6th.

Walsh and Rempel battled over 3rd for 7 laps. Walsh got him just after the finish line at the start of lap 8.

McNabb chased Kilroy for the entire moto with the gap hovering around 2 seconds. Small mistake from McNabb in the last two laps and that was it for his chance to take over the lead.

Gibbs started 19th and made his way to 7th. Great ride from Tyler.

Holeshot went to Pettis followed by Nicoletti, Stice and Meston and Wright.

Wright passed Meston, and Meston ran it into him in the following corner pushing him off track on the first lap.

2 laps in and Wright was 6 seconds back of Pettis in the lead. He made the pass on Nicoletti on lap 3.

Nicoletti made a mistake and went down on lap 3 and lost spots to Stice, Amyotte and Ward.

Wright put in a 2:09 to Pettis' 2:12 on lap 4 and cut the lead down to 2 seconds.

Wright caught Pettis on lap 6 and took over the lead. Nicoletti still running 6th.

Pettis didn't let Wright run away with it.

Ward and Nicoletti both went by Amyotte on lap 7.

Pettis took back the lead on lap 8. Camera didn't catch any of it.

Great battle between Nicoletti and Ward on lap 8 -9. Nicoletti made the pass, but Ward repassed him.

Lap 9. Pettis had a 4 second lead over Wright.

Lap 10 started and Wright was now down 12 seconds. Most likely went down. Pettis ran a 2:11 and Wright a 2:20.

Lap 11. Ward and Nicoletti were catching Stice in 3rd.

4 minutes left and Wright ran two 2:09s in a row cutting the lead in half to 6 seconds.

Nicoletti made the pass on Ward on lap 12. Ward didn't give up.

Another 2:09 from Wright and the lead was down to 4 seconds with 2 minutes left on the clock.

Lap 13 and Nicoletti was fighting Stice for 3rd.

Wright was on a roll. Still running 2:09s

Lap 14 and Nicoletti made the pass on Stice for 3rd.

Two laps to go and the lead was down to 2 seconds.

Stice fighting Nicoletti back.

Wright definitely went down. Riding with no visor.

Battle for the lead. Small mistake from Wright.

Last lap. Wright takes the lead with 2 corners to go and gives Pettis the Webb pistol.

Pettis and Wright both crashed in the second moto.

Dylan was more refined everywhere, just seemed smoother. Was consistently faster than Jess but he almost died multiple times on a step down into the east side. McNabb looked very solid too. Also massive shoutout to Jared Allison. Any Canadian kid who is trying to live the dream and got beat by him needs to quit. That guy showed up and had impeccable technique, looked very solid. Was beyond stoked to see him out there.

100%. The retired 40 year old farmer smoked some "up and comers".

Yeah, it's unfortunate.

Isn't the city supposed to help them find more land so they can continue operating at a different location?

Cold Lake this upcoming weekend better be a solid track if it's going to be the replacement.

Damn I didn’t think those 2 would put over a minute on Phil in both motos, they’re on another level. At least Wright has some competition now too.

Cold lake. Far away from any major Center ( Edmonton 2.5 hours). Cold lake is a Canadian military Air Force base. With a big lake for good fishing ( pike, walleye, lake trout). Can’t see many going up to cold lake to watch a dirt bike race. I may be wrong. 😎
