I don't wanna insult you Americans but c'mon if you got a rider like Pourcel in your championship then you don't booh at him. A great sublime rider like him deserves respect.

When i hear cheering when he is down hurt I get sick ... That isn't motocross any more that is more a hooligan thing from English Football. Is that what we want with our sport??

Aren't we better?? Do you American's have that level?? Do you want or sport to be that?
Be happy that the best of the best want to come at your championship! Be happy that you can see them live! But be a little bit smart and give them the respect they deserves...

Adore them because they make your championship as beautiful as you know it today.
Do you think if Pourcel was gone it was as good as know?? Do you think if Musquin, Roczen, Desalle, Herlings and that kind of guys stay away your Series would be as cool as it will be with that guys??

Don't be stupid and stop boohing them because otherwise you only deserve a ass whipping from France-Italy-Belgium at the MXDN...
Fuck off cry baby. Plenty of Americans were pulling for Pourcel in this championship me included. Anybody that would ever cheer at a rider getting hurt is obviously not a fan of the sport. My guess is they were from whatever country your faggot ass is from....

I agree....there are some stupid fucking Americans that boo CP....and it really sucks! CP is a world champion and deserves the respect. Hell.....any rider on that gate deserves respect!

Until now , I hadn't heard about the cheering thing when he went down.......if that is true....then YES , that is low class.

When it comes to flicking someone shit on these boards though....that is from over seas , because they slam on American riders........I'll be the first person in line to tell them to shut their fucking cake hole!

EVERY single rider desereves respect.....and the "fans" ( that's what they call themselves) are friggin' douche' bags!

NOT all MX fans are like that.....at least not the "real" fans! So your post has some merit......a lot in fact , and I agree with what you said 100%

Some fans boo'ed at Steel City and Trey set them straight, the cheers I heard weren't so much that Pourcel crashed rather they were cheering that Canard would win the championship. I might be "stupid" in believing that but I hope that is what you heard.

X2.

MxFaggi, you have no clue.... Dont you know the history of the USA? Im willing to bet on a really good social study you would find the assholes in America you speak of to be largly that of a group that got off the boat more recently. At the end of the day, pretty much everyone at the race was off the boat at some point in the last 400-500+ years. Kids learn from parents, then grandparents and so on. Generally speaking, every country and race has its % of pricks and boo birds. I have traveled and would also argue Americans are the most accepting bunch of them all.

The ones NOT off the boat were the Host Indians of this race who got kicked around by the same pole smoking Euros that came off the boats thinkin they own the joint.....hmmm.

By the way, my family was off the boat around 1550 AD, at some point one of my ancestors boned a Cherokee as I guess I have 1/16th indian in me....haha

so,
I cheered when I saw TC took the lead (cuz americans love to see a comeback generally) and was bummed when I saw CP was hurt. I am sure most of the crowd that was there would agree with that same feeling.

Pick up a book once in a while. The open and wild frontier of US Soil made most pussy Euros solid Americans. I will say one of the biggest black eye mistakes Euros turned Americans made was pushing around the Indians with such pompus and racist actions.

Ever watch Armstrong peddle up the mountains during a TDF stage with all those Euro F_cks spitting on him? Even we aren't that low, but somehow the guy who started this thread seemed to miss this little gem.

I've never seen a fan in Tour de France spit at a rider. The guy in the photo in orange is obviously Dutch, giving Lance the finger, but spitting at riders is just American over exaggeration trying to inflame the situation.

"Tour director Jean-Marie Leblanc said he'd seen fans spit at Armstrong and agreed with the American's argument that a time trial up the mountain stage was a "bad idea". "I was scared, too, and I felt relieved when we reached the section with barriers," Leblanc said. "

Fans spit as Armstrong polishes off trialling win

By Diane Pucin

July 23, 2004

L'Alpe d'Huez, France: The Tour de France belongs to Lance Armstrong. Again. Barring an extraordinary collapse, the 32-year-old Texan, who recovered from cancer to find a new focus and commitment to his sport, will win cycling's most celebrated and gruelling road race for a record sixth consecutive time.

Armstrong and Australian Robbie McEwen suffered the wrath of a small group of extreme spectators on the 16th stage time trial up the legendary Alpe d'Huez on Wednesday.

Armstrong was spat at, jeered and insulted by crowding spectators as he stormed to victory over the 15.5-kilometre climbing course around 21 hairpin bends to put one hand on the prize.

and the Dutch dude isn't inflaming the situation? Looks like he's over exaggerating to me. One finger would have gotten his point across.

couldn't resist. I hate these threads and normally don't read them. Found a gem or two so it wasn't a complete waste.

Rest the rest of the article and you will see it was those damm Germans getting all rowdy again!Wink

Quote:
Talking to French television immediately after putting on his 62nd tour leader's yellow jersey, the American singled out German fans for "disgusting" behaviour, though he later backed away from specifying a nationality. McEwen, the points category leader, also copped abuse on the legendary stage route and blamed a few German fans.

Armstrong may have been given a hard time because of his long rivalry with Ullrich, who is now almost eight minutes adrift.

Similarly, McEwen appeared to suffer because he's a sprint rival to German great Erik Zabel. The Australian is wearing the green jersey that Zabel won six years in a row.

"This is not directed at Germany or all Germans but there was a small minority who gave me a bit of a hard time on the way up," said McEwen, who finished 8:28 adrift of Armstrong and topped the stage off with a trademark wheelie.

The world is full of idiots full stop.

They say the cream will always rise to the top, but unfortunately the scum does too and people usually only make a point of highlighting the negative. For each pathetic, so-called 'fan' that has hurled abuse at a certain rider there are 1,000 more that have applauded them.

This is becoming a bit of a witch hunt.

Now, can you folks pm me for my mailing address, and send me monetary contributions? USD, please.
I lost a bet with Horndog.
Four rounds ago HD bet me Canard would take the Championship and I contended Pourcel would prevail.

It sure was a great series!

He's not Dutch!

That's a Spanish guy but he would probably say he is a Basque.

They dress up in orange too but are a bit more fanatic about their heritage then we are.

So you were completely, totally, 100% wrong in your first post when you accused Americans of "overexaggeration" trying to "inflame the situation". Then you show you don't have the character to admit you were wrong. Then you try to shift the focus from your ridiculous and ignorant mistake by accusing Lance Armstrong, a great American champion, of using performance enhancing drugs.

You sir are a disgusting human being.

Every nation has it's share of assholes, USA included. I think that Americans tend to be more rabidly patriotic and jingoistic than other countries, based on what I've seen in my travels. As for the booing of Pourcel at Steel City, it must have been pretty bad, because Davey mentioned it last night at the banquet and even felt the need to apologize to Pourcel on behalf of real American fans.

I didn't see any Honda team members rejoicing over Pourcel crashing. In fact I was watching the live feed with Trey's mother when Trey crashed just after passing CP, and she was crushed, but held up well, considering. When Pourcel was shown sitting there a few minutes later you could tell she felt badly for him. I told her "Congratulations, but I know that's not how Trey wanted to win it", and she said thanks and we talked a little about it.

Many of you are so wrapped up in your isolationist views that you forget things, like the fact that Mitch does the motor mods for the Geico team, also. I hung out at the Pro Circuit rig for a bit between motos, talking to Rattray and EJ, and Mitch was clearly bummed, as he should be. I also hung out at the Geico Honda rig for a bit, and there was no celebrating going on of any kind. It seemed like most of the focus was on getting Wharton's bike rideable and on how he was doing. Business as usual.

I hope no American fans do anything too embarrassing at the MXoN and I hope the announcing team can keep their obvious preference to a minimum...chanting "USA, USA" by the announcer is inappropriate, in my opinion.

And if he's Dutch, he would be wearing an orange wig or other stupid hat instead of a cloth on his head. Smile
