Is pourcel's stock going down the closer this championship gets???

Last year he blew a championship (granted his bike broke)...and now this year, he's darn close to blowing another championship. Will the 450 teams take note of this, seemingly recurring problem with Pourcel??? Will it hurt his salary?

All I know, is the pourcel that started this series, and built up that nearly 50 point lead in the points would be worth more TO ME than the pourcel that is racing right now. With the exception of last weekend...

Just speculation...

He'll still get-and certainly deserves-a top notch 450 ride...but Canard is certainly stealing some of his thunder this summer, that's for sure.

i know if's are if's...

2009 motor blows. 25 point swing
2010 crash out at unadilla. 25 point swing.

seems like at the end of the year something happens to him that could or could not be prevented.

however, i think his stock is going up. especially once he shows dungey the fast way around lakewood in a month Wink

also, he WILL win the c-ship tomorrow

Not to mention, he's been riding a tiddler for many years, between here and across the pond. I'm sure he's mentally checked out of the little bike class. Is it not true that the only reason he even came back to the 250's was because he couldn't get the money he wanted?

Also, Supercross, whether we like it or not, is what the teams are really focused on, and he's 2-0 there.

I say the teams are focused on supercross from a money standpoint. Better to be good indoors than outdoors..

The factories - other than KTM - don't give the first damn about outdoors. They just do it because they'd get skewered by the public if they didn't.

Pourcel will beat Dungey next year both indoors and outdoors.

your fears and concerns are unwarranted.

I just had to dig this one up from the depths...Not because I want to gloat at Pourcels misfortune (I don't), but I think Pala emphasized my point.

Canard stole his thunder big time this year.

Prior to the start of the summer, Pourcel was regarded as the fastest 250 rider in the country (world???)....now that honor belongs to Canard. Canards stock is skyrocketing...Pourcels is dropping....

LAME..

If you think Pourcel stock is dropping your wrong, the guy is so talented and his style would suit a 40 quite well....he's going to end up with the best deal for him, and so will Canard

I hate to say anything that sounds negative about CP as a rider, but it's undeniable that a racer's present worth would be different if he had two 250f MX championships in the past two years than having lost the last two championships.

Just common sense.

canards stock is skyrocketing for sure cuz he can get the job done but just becuz he won the championship doesnt mean he is the fastest 250 rider in the world or US for that matter there were a few riders that showed they can run the speeds that TC and CP do... and more inportantly, remember being the fastest doesnt necassarily win championships just ask JBS about how things were when RC was still here....

You are right, but managers and real industry people know whats up.....CP is no joke, he will end up with the best deal regardless for him next year, a deal that he wants, and i wouldn't call that "stock dropping" at this point.....both him and Canard any team manager would be glad to have i think...

I hope he gets to 100% and we get to see him battling at the front of the 450 class next year.

I don't think he has been 100% since his return to racing. That is probably the biggest concern a team would have about contracting with CP.

It isn't like he gave up and lost it either time.

Porcel put himself in position to win the title and is certainly a threat to win on the 450 next year, Just like Canard found the right program to put himself in the position to win the title.

After coming back from the adversity he has endured to get back to being a contender at any time is admirable.

Hopefully the composure he displayed this past weekend, including the interview posted on allisports.com, has shown another example of he champion that Pourcel is, and will be.

I know his stock is fine...but I believe at the beginning of the summer it was higher than Canards...now I think it's lower. Did Pourcels go down? Or did Pourcels stay the same, and Canards just skyrocket? Who knows...But Canard stole some of his thunder this summer.

having said that, both DESERVE top notch, top paying rides on the 450. both are amazing!

The extent of his recent injury is still waiting to be revealed. After the first big injury this one could hold him back some. Could! Not will but could.
