I heard that Dirt Riders publisher Shawn Finley left! That's like the captain leaving a ship. I wonder what's going on over there first Jessie Zigler (sp?) and now Finley!

I can't comment on Sean (as I don't know), but Jesse left to go back to his home state and take a position with Klim.

There was no hard feelings there at all (Jimmy and Jesse did/do get along fine), its just an opportunity Jesse took advantage of. Jesse will be (is) missed very much at DR.

DR is doing fine and still has some great guys (and gals) there.

Sean is a super duper good guy, one of the best that I ever worked for. I hope the best for him.

Sean is as hard a worker as they are made. I hope his leaving is due to wanting to take it easy and smell the roses. Life is short.

Is that the same Sean Finley who used to race a Banshee quad chassis with a YZ250 engine in the Mickey Thompson stadium series?

It sure is. No slouch on a MX bike either.

after a little over 10 years working for those publication it was time for him to move onto a new challenge. Sean will become a partner in a new business that will keep him in the moto and ATV markets. He didn't want to miss on the opportunity.

Working for Klim, surely he will be on some sick ass snowmobile now.

Another one leaving to the high powered sleds.

I meet Jimmy once, at a race back east. He seemed pretty friendly to me. Much less uppity than most SoCal guys I have meet.

Jimmy Lewis is hardcore, and a good friend of a friend. Maybe someone has an axe to grind, eh?

I have known and ridden with Jimmy off and on for 20 years. I can say he is not an MX editor but a motorcycle editor. I would never say Jimmy has a ego - but I can say he has more experience and hands on knowledge than any keyboard MC pilot in the business. Lets see, a slew of ISDE gold metals, almost won Paris to Dakar a few times, ridden some of the most gnarly enduro events all over the world, qualified for AMA Motocross nationals and I think has a slew of desert and off-road victories.
When we ride it's often on a bike he paid for, yes - often an clapped out XR400r wearing old gear. That is unless he is testing a bike - but when that happens he lets everyone in the group ride that bike to get extra opinions and feedback.

Yes getting to ride new bikes is a perk but how the hell do you write a magazine about bikes if you don't ride them and use all of the latest stuff.

The industry is always changing - riders change teams, team managers change brands, people who work at mags move on or work at other companies. Who cares - it is part of the world - things change and it often has nothing to do with the product - people move on and make room for new people into the industry. It is all good.

If Jimmy has a big ego, he's earned it. Dude's done a lot of stuff in his day, and he's done it well...

People say Ricky Johnson is cocky, or has a big ego too. To that I say: Of course he does, he's RICKY FRICKIN' JOHNSON!

DR was almost unreadable to me during the period after Faught left and before Lewis took over. I like his style and the stuff he puts out, though I'd prefer a little more moto content.
