I don't think the guy got enough props in here for what he did last weekend. We have posts all over the map for all kinds of other BS so I am bringing this back. Kevin Windham is incredible. I remember when he went through his troubled time and I thought he was finished with racing. Then he found in his down time that with time away all the negative and frustrating things melted away and what was left was his love for riding. He was able to come back on his own terms and has carved out an incredible niche within the sport. He is the epitome of a rider that does it for himself and the fans and he sets a great example of how a young man can conduct himself with class. In many ways I look at him with just as much reverance as I do RC. I count my American motocross giants on one hand... Hannah, RJ, MC, RC and Kevin.

Windham winning makes me want to watch the last race. After giving up when Dowd had the unlucky wick experience I missed last weeks race. Now I want to watch the old guy finish it off. Motocross giants wouldn't include MC he was from the SUpercross circus. But I'd like to add Doug Henry to your list.

Windham rode awesome last weekend and I was stoked to see him win. I'm pulling for Metty to get a win also so it was great to see them go 1-2.

I wasn't Jeremy's biggest fan and when he quit MX I was not impressed but in the overall scope of things I have to put him on my "A" team. Henry defintely is on my other hand along with Stanton, Emig, Jones and Swink

I was thinking the same thing. Seems like it was swept under the carpet a little to fast, Windham's awesome and it was a HUGE deal for him to win Steel City. Magazine cover worthy, bet he gets at least two. What ever Honda's paying him is a bargain. Wonder if they will use a pic of him on his Geico bike like they did with T.C?

Yea, surprised I haven't seen much in reference to his moto win. Glad was rewarded for his decision to come out and ride the nationals!

The cool part is he's already in shape and at race pace going into the off season.. Should be as strong as ever going in SX!

How can you have a Moto "A" team without Jeff Ward? I know, so many greats...

I agree. Seems to have been lost in the shuffle. Perhaps it was passed over because it could have been construed as making the nationals look a little weak in the depth department when old guys come out and spank all the kiddies. I'm surprised Team Euro isn't all over that. Anyway, not to take away from Kevin at all because he definately throwed down at SC.

Oh I hear you... there are many others, Broc, Magoo, etc. but that is my favorite 5.

I'll probably get ripped, but I agree he was on his game this weekend, and should get alittle more credit for coming late in the season and running in the front with little preparation. In the second moto he ran just as fast as dungey for a few laps and then scaled back, i believe looking at the overall. Now dungey is very good, in incredible shape, and has like 12 years on the ole' MAN. I think that when Windham wants, he can run with, or outrun everyone out there. His style, and the way he carries himself is a good for the sport and shows the younger guys how they should act. In his interview after the win he gave props to the crowd there cheering him on, and that says he appreciates them and its reflected in the number of fans he has, seemed like everyone there was pulling for him.

Windham joins the ranks of some of the great riders who never quite won that big title. But I'd say when it comes to being a rider that has a full, well rounded life, he's the man.

Windham is awesome!! Funny thing is next year when all the hype for SX comes back and they have the press conferences with the top guys they will probably leave him out again. They did it the year he won the opener at Anaheim!!

Windham's worth every penny. Honestly though, he has always been so good, I wasn't that surprised to see him get the win. There has been lots of races this year where he has put it to Dungey, Villopoto and Short.

Remember years ago people were saying "stick a fork in him"? On any weekend the guy can pull off the win. There are really fast guys (supposedly faster than Windham) that have yet to even win a moto. A lot of times people say he lucks into them.... But what about those other guys that can't seal the deal? The guy is awesome.
