How much can one pull down a year for a gear brand?

Was he wearing Seven gear for free (or next to it), because it was James' business?

It was a guess, but with the fishing gear deal, it’s kind’ve unique. It’s better than what he was getting with Seven.

I don’t even fish but I’m out in the sun a lot.  Might need some 27Parallel sun protection.  Fishing stuff is awesome when sitting watching a track meet for 8 hours, or doing yard work.  Have a few Huk shirts now.  Will support moto and the Malcom brand.

Rumor is, he wasn’t paid for two years. Again, rumor.

That tracks with the podcast rumors of multiple people not getting paid

You beat me to the punch.  Your own brother (allegedly) not paying you has to make for some awkward dinner conversation.

Seven is in Europe completely dead after the distribution with Bihr failed big time and I believe a lot of employees left Seven already. Wouldn't be suprised if the brand will stop to exist soon.

Fish on!

I bet this is more about him wanting to launch a fishing brand than anything to do with not wanting to be involved with SevenMX. The resources must have been there with FXR.

Not exactly.
Getting paid is more of the motive here.

You're right. That's what I was implying, but I probably could have made it more clear.

James wouldn't want to get in the way of little brother starting his own brand and making some bank, so no hard feelings between them.

I asked if he was running it for free because it’s his brothers brand and people thought I was dumb. Well he may as well have been if he wasn’t getting paid for 2 years.

Sometimes getting a piece of the company isn’t the best financial situation. Getting a regular paycheck is what he probably needed. Who knows what his “part” of Seven is actually worth.

I wear seven because it’s very logo minimal and James owns (owned?) it.

FXR are some seemingly cool folks and I love that they’ve grown so much.  Nearly every fast local guy where im at is wearing it.  Its a little logo centric and formal for me taste wise but at the motocross track, theres not a huge fashion element happening.  Cool gear stands out but good enough looking stuff gets the job done too.

That’s very true. Too bad too because I thought Malcom’s gear was one of the best if not the best looking stuff out there on most Saturday nights.
