Evidently the former head of the FBI doesn't.

Yeah, right...

It’s always meant to be kicked out or fired from a job to me. Never heard it used as a term for being killed, but it could be used differently in different areas I suppose.

In Texas, it has always meant to snuff out or put down.

It's funny how the internet quickly scrubbed "86". You know Wikipedia already edited their page, and all of the propaganda media bombarded Google with news articles on the term. I surely doesn't mean to be kicked out of a job. My understanding is that it is to be sunk to the bottom of the ocean (deep sixed), or as my dad would say, shitcanned.

Is Comey asking to kill Trump? Not sure, but he's the biggest tool in the shed.

We’re talking about the same guy who didn’t think there was enough evidence to investigate Hillary…

Drive them 8 miles out in the woods, then put them 6' down.

Even our online ordering system for our business (same online ordering company used by thousands of businesses nationwide) uses the term "86" when we need to delete an item from online ordering.

Its meaning has morphed into several uses, but every variation means to get rid of, end, eliminate, etc..

Comey made himself look like a fool for trying to play dumb that he didn't know what it meant. His hatred for Trump over powered his common sense.

But it has become so normalized on the left to hate Trump, that it is considered justified to post anything no matter the content. As long as Trump is the target.

Huh, I never knew it meant 8 out and 6 down.

I just figured it loosely could be translated to being fired or gotten rid of.

Comey went and removed the post. That’s a statement in itself.

Nuff said.

Ironic because there are so many high ranking Republicans posting on Instagram inferring that Biden should be killed?

Must have missed those, but hope you have a great weekend as well AKW!

Is that the best defense you can come up with for what Comey said?

The Effeminate Marsupial had her claws clipped a couple months ago. Let her scamper off into the void of nothingness.

If he didn't know what it meant, then why did he feel compelled to post random numbers spelled out of seashells in the first place?

I agree.

Also...    If the right had made 2 assassination attempts on Comey's life and then Trump posted months later anything about 86'in Comey.  The left would lose it.

From ChatGPT:

The term "86'd" is slang that means to get rid of, cancel, or refuse service to someone or something. It's often used in the context of:

Restaurants/Bars: When an item is out of stock or removed from the menu — e.g., "We're 86'd on guacamole."

Kicking someone out: To remove or ban someone — e.g., "He got 86'd from the bar for causing trouble."

Cancelling something: To cancel plans or discontinue something — e.g., "They 86'd the project after budget cuts."

Origins (speculative and varied):

There’s no universally agreed-upon origin, but a few theories include:

Prohibition-era bars using "86" as code to discreetly tell bartenders to eject unruly patrons.

Diner code language where 86 meant “out of” a certain menu item.

Military or police codes — possibly shorthand or radio code.

Rhyming slang or numerical shorthand (like "86" sounding like "nix").

Despite the unclear origin, it's widely understood in hospitality and casual conversation.

Statements like "86".... depending on context, can also be interpreted as a death threat, especially in political or high-security contexts.  The context / circumstances around what Comey posted when you take into account there's been near successful attempts on Trumps life is a credible death threat and should be investigated and  treated as such.  They need to get all of Comey's devices and go through them all ,see what he was planning if anything. Then go from there... Probable cause is where we are at right now.   As far as charging him for the comment, they're gonna need more.

Oh, no doubt about that, I agree with you...I've always assumed that term meant "to kill someone/something"...as dumb teenagers we'd always say it when out hunting..."we 86'd 10 gophers today"...I find it interesting that no online searches (including chatgpt) are coming up with that possible meaning/connotation?  Is my tinfoil had on too tight? .
