Oh, no doubt about that, I agree with you...I've always assumed that term meant "to kill someone/something"...as dumb teenagers we'd always say it when out hunting..."we 86'd 10 gophers today"...I find it interesting that no online searches (including chatgpt) are coming up with that possible meaning/connotation?
