I had a sachs 80 also. all black w/a red gas tank. went pretty good for a 80. ran NPG oil in the gas. had to put a piston in it once. C-B motors did the boring for me. how many of you guy's remember C-B motors? I think they were on crenshaw in hawthorne. good memories all around.

1979 Yamaha MX80. Wish I still had it. I outgrew it in about 6 months which led to my second bike. Nov of 85 a 1986 CR-125 rolled up. Woo Hoo! I still have it, with a full assortment of Mugen and Showa goods from Sudco International, that I bought with all my hard earned lawn mowing money.

First bike was a lawn mower pull start engine powered hand made chubby tire mini bike my dad built.

First production bike was the Honda MR50 when I was 5. Still remember seeing two of them on the show room floor and thinking it was too good to be true that I was getting one.

I had one of those in 1974. Took the baffle out to make is sound like a "race bike". That bike took some major abuse. Bought it used for $250 paper route dollars.

"The one" that started it for me was this one. A 1966, 50cc Harley Davidson. It was my Grandpa's pit bike when he was a mechanic on a Canadian MacLaren racing team. He passed it onto his son (my uncle) who promptly turned it into an "mx" machine with big sprockets, knobby tires, high/plastic Preston Petty fenders modified to fit, no lights/electrical, heavy springs in the forks, etc.

I wanted a bike soooooo bad when I was 12 years old (grade 07). My Grandpa promised me I could have The Harley if I hit a homerun in the baseball tournament we were playing in one weekend. I was so determined to get that thing, I hit THREE that weekend!!! That was it for me. I was addicted from the first time I rode that bike.

*Crazy thing had a forward action, left side kick start and a clutch/shifter on the left side lever. To shift you pulled in the clutch and twisted the grip to the next notch and let it go.

*There was also a women's version of this bike with step through tank/seat configuration.

Man I LOVED that bike.
