9/14/2020 7:40am Anyone remember this track and some of its faster racers? During the mid to late 70's some of the better racers included: Pete Tanner, Scott Logston, Tommy Wicker, Andy Palafox, Maybe McIntyre, and Dean Ulve. Occasional guest riders included Steve Wise and Carlos Serrano.

9/26/2013 9:46am Mike, NIce post and great pictures. That's a great shot of you on the TM125. Also looks like you weren't a big fan of gloves...must have big time calluses. You were doing well in the expert classes in 1977. What kind of bikes were you riding then?

8/5/2013 9:14am Glen, I saw a picture of you later in the season at the 1976 Houston race with you on a Yamaha without water cooling and with stock forks (with canisters on top). You finished in top 10 that day. Is this correct and if so, why did you get rid of water cooling and Marzocchi forks?

3/11/2013 3:59pm The name "Star Track" was selected by vote of the Southwest Dirt Riders Association in the late winter/early spring of 1977. The president of the Southwest Dirt Riders Association was Mr. LaPointe and he organized the races. His son was a fast rider. That was the end of the name Borderland. Here is a list of the Rider's Standings at...

2/11/2013 2:58pm Nice. Sue is riding newer bike than yours.
I'm trying to figure out where the start is in the picture above. It used to be at the base of Suicide hill. But it looks different.

1/23/2013 1:12pm I've got a CRF230 with electric start and a honda 4x4 rancher for trail riding. The CRF230 (see my avitar) is an old man's bike, but fun. I'm mostly a spectator now. Watch hare scrambles and supercross. I'm looking forward to seeing the Atlanta Supercross on 2/23/13. Thanks for posting the cool pictures. Last one looks like 1979 yz250.

1/22/2013 12:57pm Thanks for posting tt80500! I have nothing but great memories of Borderland. You and your friend got good jumps with your YZX's. Cool radial head on your engine. Pipe looks stock. Did you do anything to the porting or carb?
10/10/76... I was 16 and waiting on delivery of my YZ250D.
I still wish that I had my old yz125C...
