I'm fine with his decision to pull out to heal himself up and all but am wondering what will be left for him for next year.

Sounds like he is not welcome back with Kawasaki and him and THOR have parted ways ... who's going to hire him? Can he put together his own program?

he still has a 2nd year to honor with kawasaki...and im sure they want him there to represent cuz it will still be 7 , 22, 2, and 5 all vying for that #1 position...

I'm listening to the pulpmx show right now and they are hinting around some changes for him for next year. I hope he's with Kawi with Poto and hire Weimer also.

He better run as far away from that Kawi as he can. That's just MHO.

I reckon he will go with Fox gear, Red Bull and Honda. You heard it here first! HE will then take over the torch from his long time hero Jeremy after 2 years as testing and mentor to the kids after he wins a couple of titles...

That would be cool.

With all this economy bullshit in mx, I would love to see the teams put out more riders but at less pay to stretch out their bang for their buck. Probably will never happen. One of the coolest teams of all time was when Kawi had Wardy, Matiasevich, Kiedrowski and LaRocco.

Isn't there going to a team Yamaha/UPS next year? Or am I mistaken?

Reed on that team would be awesome!

That was not a Team Sponsorship deal. That was a shipping cost savings deal. Big Brown does it with all industries. They do it to cut out the competition. They don't give two shits about motocross.

I really doubt he's gonna get on a team that's aligned with another Energy Drink apart from Monster...

From what he said in an interview if Monster and Kawi resign, then the option is there, don't know about rights etc... ie who's decision, his or theres... BUT

I still think he doesn't look great on that bike... Even if he said he feels ok, I don't think he looks great on it... I couldn't wait for him to get off that Blue 450 tank, was stoked when he got on yellow... Hopefully he gets back on Blue or Yellow!

I like the sound of two out of three of those chances

zero chance of him being on green next year. Look for him to be on his own team riding red or blue

I completely agree with you. He needs to be begging roger for his spot back, lol. Truthfully, a Honda or Yamaha would be fine for him I think. I really think that the honda would fit him really well, and honda would be smart to go after him.

I'd love to see Honda hire:

Reed
Pourcel
Canard

Not as good a team as Magoo, Bailey, et al. above, but those 3 would probably get Honda winning c-ships again.

I heard Larry Brooks is going to be his team manager and Kyle Chisholm will be his teammate.

His only hope would be a Lord's of London Insurance deal on his own team with Suzuki's.

If not that then hang it up. Nobody has money to pay top riders for one year.

Chad can do it. He is very young.

Kawi has a track record of ditching thier riders. Reed needs to be on Red or Yellow. if not, then I see him just riding off into the sunset in Austrailia.

Wonder if down the road he will ever regret, essentially 'selling out' and going with the Kawi deal. He has always said how much he liked it at Suzuki and how much he liked working the Goose and the bike etc.. You'd think if he wanted more championships he might have put the bike + team first, rather than jumping ship to Kawi for better $$. Irony is, I expect his stock is worth less now than it was his last year at Suzuki.

Reed will NOT be on Honda. He has stated he doesn't like the bike. You will see him on yellow or blue and happy. Speculation here, but I think he figured the Kawi was a bike that would suit him. However, many know it hasn't. I hope he comes back happy and rides like he knows he can.

Unfortunately snowy and Ramrod, Reed will not be involved with the sport when he's finished racing MX/SX.

He'll be racing cars...

This year will also be the last year Reed races Super X in Australia. Super X website has already stated that. His 3 years deal is up and he no longer sees eye to eye with Global Action Sports owner Mike Porra. Seems to be a common theme with Chad and his past sponsors/business associates....

you can't argue that. he's never looked right, using his Yami and Suzi days as a measure, on the Kwacker.

The new 450 Yamaha has huge problems also.

Villapoto makes his Kawi work, and so did Bubs, but Reed looks like crap on his KX but was almost unbeatable in SX and the Nats. on that Suzuki.

Suzuki is probably the best bike out there right now.

I really don't get why it has become accepted that the Kawi is not a good bike or doesn't suit his style. It's a factory bike, with a Monster budget, and with just as much technical and testing support as the other factories. If he has unlimited testing resources, isn't it his fault to an extent if the bike doesn't suit him?

In my opinion if RV didn't get hurt the Kawi 450 would be adorned with the #1 plate next year in MX and SX, would that change people's opinion of the bike?

Good question and very valid points. Villopoto might have taken both series or at least one of them. Reed didn't have much time on the green bike before it was showtime though.

I don't think it's about the bike not being good (other riders have proven it's winning abilities), it's more about the rider/bike marriage. RV is fast and wins SX on it, but he has not had a full healthy season on it yet.
