Webb is in position to win his 3rd title, his last coming in 2021. Has anyone else had a spread of 4 years between titles? This alone is enough to show Webb is probably the racer with the most grit ever. Truly has no quit in him.

Also shows that some of the top riders are once again injured and that allows other riders to possibly win championships. Of course injuries always happen. But this is one of those years where some top contenders and past champions went our early. Allowing for others to shine. But Webb, Sexton and Roczen have given us a great show, and plenty of others like first time 450 winner Mookie.

Which riders were ahead of Webb and Sexton when they left the series?

Coop would have been right there either way

If Coop wins he'll join the three time club with Stanton and Hannah.

RV and Dungey have 4 titles, RC has five and MC has 7.

Seems like that point is lost on people…isn’t it?

Agreed Webb has been right in the running points wise since A1.

If Webb didn't hurt his thumb last year he woulda been champ then too.  So I don't think ol' Jettson quite has his number in SX like you seem to be implying here.

I remember when Cooper was a little kid ripping around NC tracks on a KTM 65. Twenty years later it's incredible to see him possibly joining the list of the sport's greatest riders with three SX titles!

Webb has been in the title contention every year since 2019 (except for 2022, where he was really just off) and he was the only guy close to Jett last year. Saying he only wins championships because other riders are hurt is kinda disrespectful.
