Well, this comes from reports that Jasmine Crockett alleged that she was touched/approached/“unwarranted advance” in a girl’s “changing” room by a trans. The details sound a little sketchy at this point (hard to believe what she says). She goes on to mention that it caused her problems affecting her mental state. She alleged that through this she was politically misled to accept “differing grants…which were unverified” that led to her current FEC investigation.

Even though Trump blinked and eliminated electronics tariffs and now he is blinking again and backtracking on the percentage of the tariffs … still no call … meanwhile China is signing all kinds of trade deals in Asia. Canada and South American countries working on deals with Europe. Stocks , bonds and US dollar all dropped at the same time … perfectly normal right?
And yet, he’s the only one to ever do something like this…

So what’s the alternative? I think you would agree that the last administration not only did nothing, but this administration is having to clean up all the the last administration caused. How is and trying to bring manufacturing to the US a bad thing? Especially for the long-term? I guess trying to take care of the national debt and bring some prosperity to America is a bad thing? How can you love what the past administration did?
How can you tell a media outlet is lying and only out for their interest? Because they spread fear and panic. Now, I wonder if we can name any of the networks today that are spreading fear and panic?
None of those things require blanket tariffs based on made up figures that directly ruins US relations with most every country in the world.
Whats an alternative? Oh I don't know, maybe incentivize investment in the US, negotiate with countries you want a new agreement with (believe it or not, trumps phone dials out as well), and if you get reallly excited about it maybe a targeted tariff or two. There's far better ways to achieve onshoring manufacturing.
BTW, I'm really impressed at how effective the Biden administration was in completely annihilating US manufacturing in just four short years. The only thing I can't figure out is if all those jobs disappeared in four short years, why is unemployment so low and why was the stock market up so much? /s

A good start would be to stop providing tax incentives for companies to offshore jobs. Congress needs to finally pass that.
Well, in regard to tariffs, politicians and lawmakers on both sides (mainly Democrat) have talked about doing this for a long time.
I can’t even bring words to say at how amazingly delusional someone would be to say “Biden and Harris did a great job.”
It’s like seeing someone standing out in the rain and telling them to come in out of it. Then they argue that it’s not raining. In fact, they will get experts to bring stats and charts to show that it’s not raining. Then they will get more experts to intelligently explain why coming inside is a bad idea. All the while the person you’re telling to come in is getting soaked. But they refuse to come in. Meanwhile all the experts that told them that it’s not raining are laughing as they go to their own shelter out of the rain.
Not a fan of the last administration, but it’s false to state they did nothing. The tax programs they put out under the IRA had all of the projects we are planning to build using 100% Domestic Content, and 100% Union or prevailing wage labor. The companies that manufacture steel and aluminum products were already planning on bringing plants back to the US in an organized manner.
The current administration has not released any plan whatsoever, industry is trying to react as quickly as possible but getting projects financed is increasingly difficult with the lack of foresight available into what commodities will cost. On again off again tariffs effect projects in the future significantly more than the stock market or the mills. Risking the employment of blue collar workers.
I have lost faith that this administration actually can accomplish what we hoped they could when we voted for them.
One thing I’ve noticed while browsing the now 36 pages is that no MAGA person is actually defending these tariffs (the topic of the thread). It’s just talk about Biden or some other topic. Even they know it’s stupid, but just can’t yet bring themselves to publicly admit it.

I hear what you’re saying. I think Trump is trying to set things right. And there’s some uncertainty. No one has taken on China or any of the world. It’s been talked about for years (that someone needed to do something) but everyone was scared.

What will happen if the tariffs succeed? What will happen if Trump succeeds in getting manufacturing here in the US?
Keep in mind, he’s only been in less than 5 months. There’s already investors coming and many countries have already reached a trade deal.
Of course, the legacy media: Fox cnn msnbc cbs abc Reuters bbc guardian etc all want him to fail (so, they create fear and panic).
