I live down here in Australia and I love everything MX but I was watching an episode of ADAM 12 the other day and the story was about a bikie gang who was being watched by the police. Anyway to cut a long story short the had bikie challenged Malloy to a motocross race out at Indian Dunes. I think the year was 1972 and they were riding Husqvarnas and CZ,s. There were no real jumps on the track but it was interesting to see this old track back in the day.

I remember that episode but was to young to have a clue where it was. Very cool. Would like to see it now.
I also remember the episode where they kept busting Jody from the late 60's show family affair for riding his, I believe Yamaha GT80 on the streets.

I would love to see that episode too. I grew up reading Dirt Bike magazine in the 70's and remember reading about the riders andtracks in California and they have just stayed in my memory. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0505262/
There is the link to that episode at Indian Dunes.

Just watched this tonight. 14 years after the previous post and 53 years after the episode.  One bike was a Husqvarna.  Left side kick and right side shift.  They mentioned Indian dunes by name a couple times.

I first saw this episode first run when I was a kid. I saw it again several years ago on TV Land I think.

It’s also cool to see The Dunes in the Baa Baa Blacksheep tv show from the mid 70’s. You wouldn’t see the tracks , but you could pick out where they were because of the big eucalyptus trees in the pits. The gran prix races would send you through their set near the Shadow Glen track. I sure miss that place.

Believe CHIPS did an episode there as well.  Growing up in north east, Indian Dunes, Carlsbad and Saddleback were bucket list visits. never made it before they closed!  But lived these through CN, MXA & Popular Cycling. .  And corny tv shows

Didnt that episode have something to do with kids ? Pretty sure it was mini racing wasn’t it ? That era was definitely a golden period in So Cal moto. I grew up in a town just south of LAX , we had fields to ride in locally and could ride along the railroad tracks to get to other tracks in the vicinity. We had very little traffic back then and Dunes and Saddleback were about 45 minutes away regardless of the time.
