450’s shouldn’t be a problem, I don’t recall Phil having any issues with 450 reliability.
He'll stay. Personally, I think Sexton & his manager are using the alleged Kawasaki proposition (whatever that is) to bump KTM for more money...and I think KTM will wind up doing it to keep him.
Didn’t he have a transmission issue or two on the 450?
He very well could have, I am talking out of my ass as far as 450 reliability.

I think that was the 250 during sx. Phil had a dnf because of it and spoke up. Also some clutch issues perhaps.
I can't remember any 450 problems. I'd love to see Jason at clubmx. It might rejuvenate him to share the truck on raceway with the kids.
because moto media is so freaking weird, anytime that JT/Weege/Matthes/ML ever chime in with "Yeah, I'm hearing Kawasaki"....it's gonna be kawasaki. Reason why is cause they guys bro down so hard with these guys, they'll NEVER float a rumor that might even be true if it any way could harm their relationship with the rider OR the team. Thus, for these moto-media-guys to start saying stuff like this, I'm inclined to think Sexton to Kawi is gonna happen or an "agreement in terms" is already complete. I've never been wrong in my life, so just STAMP IT. ;-)
Yup, you’re right. The transmission issue was definitely a 250 because I remember him kinda hinting that he got reamed out after he went on Pulp and basically called the thing a death trap lmao.
I think Phil may have had a 1 or 2 dnfs last year outdoors and I know Marchbanks ran outta fuel at Southwick.
Creating a championship winning set-up is teamwork, also from his side and that there are sponsors and politics too is something he doesn't seems to take at heart. In 2023 everyone already knew he wanted out, he was also complaining like a little kid in an art gallery, but in the end he came very close to Tomac and even won the SX450 championship due to misfortune from Tomac. With KTM he won the outdoors in 2024 and is in the running for SX championship, and this with a bike he doesn't likes... I hope all his moves are just about money because if it is really about set-up issues time and time again, people are going to get tired of him and he's burning bridges fast.
Chase likes the bike tho...
Crazy to think that he dominated 2024 MX on it, may get the 2025 SX Chip, looks better than ever and hasn't tucked the front once on the pumpkin...I believe his bike is dialed. Makes me scratch my head that he is looking at potentially leaving unless it is really just about the cash?
I don't see Chase as a good sign for any company. Win or not he constantly belly aches about any bike he races, never taking heat upon himself. Yes he is a championship winner, when somebody get's hurt, but he bitches about the bike he rides the whole time.
OEM's primary goal is to win championships (and wins to a lesser degree). They could care less if a rider is belly aching IMO especially if the rider is winning.
Ha yes you know who I talk to, I mean like I said Kaw very much in the picture and KTM trying to put a package together. Definitely concerns about KTM financial health.
On another note ,are you still riding or racing ?
So you've never actually listened to a chase interview?
He definitely searches for perfection and a feeling that may or may not exist but to say he bitches about everything and never puts anything on himself isn't at all accurate. Dude is a professional in every way.
Yes I have listened to his interviews. He bitched about Hondas the whole time and has bitched about KTMs the whole time too. Not a ringing endorsement to sell bikes.
I also thought Chase had a few test days with Prado before the Supercross season began. Could he have ridden the Kawi then and possibly put the bug in Kawi's ear?
Agreed
Kehoe, Lars and Ian have all had to deal with Chase and his bike bashing. He’s not the only one, but he’s one of the worst !
Lars and Ian love Chase.
Pit Row
Took 11 years off and picked it back up part time in 2023, hard finding the time to ride/train/race nowadays but I get out when I can. I don't think I ever really hung out with your kids much but I always remember seeing them around/names in the results back in the day
Chase has a bad habit of talking about the bike when he’s not riding good. If you haven’t noticed that, it’s pretty obvious.
If Chase goes Kawi, do you (or @ML512) know if Jade goes with him? Or does he start working with Rango?
DB has said Club is in talks with a 450 rider on one of his podcast
I am sure that would be part of the negotiations , they are a great pair.
Yes, I believe mainly at Taylorville, back than they had great turnouts.
Chase and his dad seem like there an issue no matter what team they go to.
Taylorville is back racing you should come ride
Club reached out to sponsors over a month ago and threw out the Anderson idea.
Is it possible Kawi is just offering more money and they also haven’t been in the news for filing Chapter 11?
Some of y’all are in the weeds on this
2009-2010 were good years there with the Midwest Best series with good Kawi contingency, always had stacked A classes. Jeff Gibson and Kyle Corman had a lot of good battles then.
