Hopefully this has more footing than the mx-pure article on James racing for PR at the nations!

Guess we'll know when the gate drops at Steel City Wink, but it seems pretty legit

Back in his CAS Honda GP days, when he was on, he was extremely quick, 2009 he couldn't put it together and would racing in AUS this year improve his speed and consistency, if so he should be a top six contender at least if not around top ten sounds right, but i believe he will build off of the result at Steel City and lay all of his cards on the table at Pala.

He will be if he can keep it on two wheels...

Looks like the last few rounds are going to be quite interesting.

Billy is the kind of rider that could holeshot and lead, I doubt he can sustain a whole moto without mistakes but he is simply brilliant at times and other times not so much.

it will be good to have him over for a few rounds.

Very cool, Billy should be riding in the GPs or AMA - he passed Reed at the MXDN last year.. speed is not the issue ... if he is fit and on form he will be top 10 no problem- ability wise he is as good as Short, metcaffe etc. He has won GPs in the past. Saying that Brad Anderson beat him in Oz so it is hard to know if his level has dropped from last season.

I wonder if that will get him a MXDN ride?

I think it was MX Pure that also said that Davi Millsaps and Josh Hill were both racing the USGP.

I've gotta agree with jamma10 on this one. Billy COULD do it, but he has to keep it right-side-up. He's not always capable of doing that.

Regardless of where he finishes, the more the merrier, IMO. Let's encourage more people to show up and have a go at this thing...I'm getting bored seeing Dungey beat the crap out of everyone week after week... ;-)

I doubt he will make it into Team GB as MotocrossMX1 are reporting that Team GB is to be picked this week obviously before he makes his US debut, but could Dixon make a last minute switch in team riders?? He may be used as an alternate.....

Sounds like a BS move , there aren't any American kids that deserve that ride ????

I'd like to see what Weston Peick, Ben Evans, or Jarred Browne could do on that bike!

If i remember his GP-Races right, i would say he crashes 3 out of the 4 motos he is doing during this two last AMA-Nationals. No "down hard" crashes, but some kind of tipover ...

They are not the level of Billy Mac, Nick Wey isn't even as good as Billy. Billy has podium speed potential... if he is on form and doesn't crash of course lol

maybe b mac would have been a podium threat a couple years ago...but runner up to jay marmont in aussie mx1 nationals, not so impressive. i understand he has ridden with an injured wrist most of the year, but i think the intensity will overwhelm him here..dont expect any DeSalle type speed.....he'll be battling with chisolm and regal and wey for 10th to 12th..it'll be cool to see. and speaking of GB's mxon team, with deano and searle and anstie or mackenzie or whoever else they have, they could be pretty tough

I think these are the kind of races he could do well at.. Seems to like a bit of attention and isn't under crazy pressure. But like someone said, is hard to gauge his speed since hes been hiding out in Oz all year! Thought he was a bit washed up so curious to see how he does.
