I'm starting to think that it would be a really good idea for firearms manufacturers to create a self-defense weapon that shoots high-voltage electrical charges, mini superconductors, or plasma bullets. You know, like something that could stop a robot. Just saying.

The company I work for has no H.R. all Intuit based A.I.

^Interesting about the HR department. On the surface, it sounds absolutely horrifying that Humans are a "resource" which is now managed by a computer. However, I bet it's a blessing in disguise when compared to the nightmare that my wife's company has. The HR director thinks she is the CEO. She has worked herself into a sweet spot wherein she can fire people, tell department heads what to do with their staff (including how and when to do their jobs,) and basically just become a nuisance. Her understudy who runs the payroll department takes it upon herself to alter people's pay, because she "doesn't think that was the right number of hours and we must be paying that person too much." 
Unless specifically programmed to be a pain in the ass, I can't see AI doing unethical and overtly illegal stuff like that. 

Take a look a few post above yours. AI “is not inherently good”. Assuming AI isn’t, or doesn’t become sentient, where will it derive its cues, or form its baseline from? From the present state of humanity at large? From the institutions that currently control our societies? 

IMO our current mode of existence, our current mode of conduct, our current way of thinking is flawed. And if you could take an objective look at the current state of humanity I think it would be hard to argue this isn’t true. Will AI take on our flawed way of thinking? Maybe it’s better that it becomes sentient? 

Ethics can be very subjective depending on your world view. It might be naive to assume AI with be ethical, or more ethical than our already unethical culture.
