Yes, it isn't as smooth as the Pierer bikes, both in terms of vibes, and power delivery, but, in a way, it might appeal more to many  2t aficionados with it retaining a bit of the 'old school' feel. So many bitch about that 'loss'.

Chassis - yes, it's essentially from 2005, but it's a bloody good one. I've made many an AF,  since '97, but the only chassis I'd change my steelie 500 frame for, would be the YZ one, I like it that much. But, I do love my PDS'd Steel frame 500, as it is. 

Yes, i rode one several time. Actually, i test bike for a living in France. Chassis is good as you said, engine not so much. I agree on your take that it might appeal to some hard core 2T fans, but in real enduro conditions, i'll take a Pierer bike any time.

Fair enough - Agree to Disagree.

I prefer a bit more rawness  - though I really like the Pierer bikes engines - but, that might come from my still riding a vibratory old Teddy Bear of a bike.

No 250 / 300 has the 'vibes' of an ancient 500 - though, I have no problem with those - the 'vibes' . PHDS 'bar mounts helped with that, quite a lot - well, those, plus getting Carpal Tunnel and Trigger Finger Surgery in the last few years!. 

I really hope that 350cc 2T  Beta does get released........... something more than a 'squared up 250', really interests me.

I seem to remember Fantic's being in the U.S. back in the '70's and into the early '80's. But I could be wrong.

Always loved riding buddies YZ250's but hard to go back to a platform without counter balancer

Fantic Owner here, my old man had a 19 sx250 with the counter balancer, riding both back to back I can honestly say there's hardly any difference in vibration, for context I had an 11' SX250 back in the day and that thing was horrendous for vibration, and that was my no.1 worry getting another 250 2t.

I can say after riding both back to back (right after I bought the bike & especially now I've had a whole season on it) that the vibration is a non issue on the fantic/yz for me. It does vibrate more than a counterbalanced bike, but I cannot say I notice it when riding them back to back.

If you can try a modern YZ/Fantic you'll notice the vibration at idle, but when riding you shouldn't notice it, my old 11' KTM used to feel horrible when you were wide open up in the RPM.

Can't see if it's a Minarelli sourced engine , or a Chinese one. Minarelli seems more logical, being Italian, and Fantic worked with them with regards to the EFI 2t. They also supply the 50cc 2ts, and the 125 4t engines.

Looks to be quite a good thing - well above say  the Honda and Kawasaki 'Trail Bike' offerings -  4130 Frame, Alloy Swingarm, removable sub frame, etc. I've no idea of the price comparisons between the H and K 300cc Trail Bikes and this Fantic, but it looks to be far more of a Dirt Oriented bike than the  than either.

They are Yamaha's small engine supplier for Europe.
