Sorry if this needs to be moved to other forum but its kind of moto related. Looks like the ex title sponsor for Factory Connection Honda is no more..... Sorry I can't embed the video just the link, some of the comments are pretty good as well.

1973......stationed in W Germany - located in Mannheim....went to the motor pool and being a MX rider I saw 2 pallets of Torco 2 Stroke oil in quart cans. Turned that the US Army was using 6 wheel atv's in lieu of tanks for training.....of course the test failed (management problem) the cases were obsolete! hahahahahhaha I took them!!!!!

Torco is a great oil. The russian who was my mechanic ....long story....took a plate of steel and a torch - then heated a red spot, we then poured oil (Torco and other popular oils onto the red spot......Torco. Ran to the red spot, the other oils ran from the red spot......

This story has been a long time in the making and the part that SHOWS this guy was aware of the whole scam is he pleaded guilty and did not fight the charges. Knoll filed false claims for federal refunds for over $80 million they are saying.... turns out there was a lot of $$$ just was never his money to throw around. What really sucks is his games really screwed MANY teams up (NHRA, IHRA, Circle track, Moto etc) as they thought everything was legit and the carpet was pulled out with many not getting a single penny. The down side to a federal crime is dude will end up in a nice federal jail when he should be in some packed cell in total fear for his life.

That was not a Lear jet... that was a Cessna Citation Ten... it is the fastest civillian jet in the world... flys at 92% the speed of sound.
It is very likely he had neither a Lear or a Citation... the news media is inept at all things aviation. Everything to them is a 747 or a Lear jet.

To avoid confusion or anger at the wrong company, if I remember correctly "TORCO Fuels" had NOTHING to do with "TORCO Oils"

It was a licensing arrangement whereby TORCO Oils, the name owner of TORCO, licensed it's use to "TORCO Fuels" and in the end TORCO Oils got screwed financially as well as publicly.

VP is doing the same thing now, licensing the name VP to local blenders to make their own VP fuel.

So don't confuse or blame TORCO Oils for this guy's greed and stupidity, they were a victim as well

I sent off for free stickers from everyone as a kid. Got a long letter (and a stack of stickers!) from Torco Oils explaining the religious meaning behind the Torco "T" logo. You just "gotta believe" that that was obviously two different companies there.

A Viper wrapped around a tree? Sounds about right as I can't say I've ever seen a wrecked Viper before. I've seen quite a few totally f'n destroyed Vipers .....lol

I read the article and it refers to him as the "former owner", I looked at the TORCO Racing fuel website and it appears to be still up and business as usual, we use their accelrator with success in our YZ's....

Dave (flarider) is correct. Years ago we (Torco Oils) signed a licensing agreement with Evan Knoll that allowed him to use the Torco name for his race fuel company. That turned out to be a big mistake as you can see. There's a lot more to it than what's in the article, but basically he screwed just about everything and everyone he got involved with. We had to take him to court just to get him to stop using the Torco name because the 10 year contract between the two companies was over and he refused to stop using the Torco name on his products......not only that, he stopped paying us about 5 years into the 10 year deal.
He would make a lot of promises and sponsorship deals only to pull out shortly after or stop the financing altogether. That's what happened with the Honda/ Torco Race Fuel team that Windham rode for. All this stuff made us look bad because most people thought it was Torco Oil that was involved with these bad deals, when in reality we had absolutely nothing to do with any of it.

We have recently signed on with another race fuel company called Phoenix Race Fuels and set up a new licensing agreement allowing them to use the Torco name for their race fuels. We were very careful this time in choosing a new company to work with and so far everything has been going good with them.

Torco Oil is still ran by the family that originally started it back in the 50's and they are the nicest people you could meet, there's no way they would let themselves get involved with crap like this, but unfortunately they got sucked into this mess and have worked hard to try and get the whole Evan Knoll thing behind them.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. A lot of promises and deals were made and then he would pull the plug financially at some point during the season leaving a lot of teams without funding and screwed for the rest of the season. Teams would pass up deals from other companies in order to sign with Torco Fuels because the deals through them were just to good to pass up......or so it seemed. But they were obviously too good to be true. The strange part is that this happened for a few years and people would continue to sign on with him and give him the benefit of the doubt. There would always be some crazy excuse as to why they would have to pull out at some point and people would keep on believing the stories.

This crook just used the wrong approach. Instead of filing for the fuel tax refunds, he should have just claimed that his company was researching and developing "green energy" and the gov"t would have happily given him hundreds of millions. After collecting the money he could have just filed bankruptcy and drove off into the sunset. Seems to be the way they get away with it these days...Wink

I know Evan Knoll personally..He was a independent oil man, he got to big to fast ..when Sonoco offered to buy Torco is when the problems started ..Evan turned them down..that's when things took a turn ..First he hit the wall at 280 mph because someone tapered with a race car ..we will never know the whole story.... Evan Knoll was framed simply put! The federal government, big oil companies not one to compete with ...Look at what they did to Tucker, that's right the Tucker car.. Put him out of business and stole his ideas ..The federal government claimed he sold untamed motor fuel..I know a Doctor, Dr. John Patrick clutch who was got 20 years in the feds, a good doctor..He won his case in the Supreme Court, vacate all charges 9-0 victory...he's was handed down to the district court and they upheld Rico on him attached it to nothing and re- sentenced him to 20 years .. the federal government has put there noses where it doesn't belong...they are going to ruin medical care in this country and they mean to get rid of your cars to ...I'm am friends with alot of top fuel people and been offered a job with a few teams... We had some bad people out there but Evan Knoll is not one of them ...most of you guys reading this don't have friends like this man because good people are hard to find .. dont watch the fake news people..put your faith in people not government... It is good to watch the news but don't be brain washed by it there is alot of people sitting in prison who did nothing wrong ..we have 5 % of the world population but incarcerate 20% of the world's prison population..there is ALWAYS more to the story then what you read and watch..If anyone wants to know more please ask questions before you point fingers...Does anyone miss Torco ? From the USDOJ press release back in 2012.  168 months in the pokey.  Sounds about right that he just got out.  Welcome to Vital😂

"Knoll pled guilty in July to eight charges of making false claims against the United States and to one count of bank fraud"
