Need a legit track builder in the Midwest. I'm in southern Indiana, near Louisville KY. Looking for a big AX or small SX layout. I have dirt on site. I have been in touch with a couple, but looking for others to compare cost and time.
Who do you recommend? Thanks.
Shawn Rife. You can find him on Facebook.
That name sticks in my mind after seeing him huck the downhill triple on a 65 at Lincoln Trail, back when it was a big jump.
Shaffer I think is the name . He does Millville & ? I went past iron man yesterday & threw your area . Parked at x 76 i75 , 76 mi from Tn. It was the same temp as Green Bay. Snow on the mtns going threw pigeon forge mtn pass . It’s open now but only 1 lane each way with a funky concrete curb separator with reflective skinny plastic poles . F ing crazy how much rd got washed out last yr.

Give 'Track Rescue' serious thought - Josh Hill is an XLNT supercross track builder.
When I was a racer I always smiled when I saw Shane Schaefer at Schaefer tracks on site at an AX because I knew the berms would be sick, whoops would be prime, and it'd flow. Marty Leum now at Dirt Monkey in WI was one of his partners (and my favorite person to race with when he did double duty) and is in the dirt game on his own now too with Dirt Monkey. Lot of options from my experience and many great builders and operators, but the more experienced often know the drainage/erosion control/planning better.

Matt Sweeney from Sweeneys MX in Missouri. He also builds the AX tour tracks. Dude as legit as legit gets
I raced SX with Marty.. great guy!
So from my research, all tracks need to be at least 20 feet wide. The nationals and sx look to be about that wide, except the corners. They look way wider. Is this true? Any recommendations on corner width? 20 feet seems tight in the corners when I ride my layout lol
Rule of thumb, minimum 3 bikes preferably 4 bikes wide comfortably. A buddy of mine who owns ArchviewMX Park and I were discussing this when building that track It is wide and known for that. Go wider than you think, once tractors, haybails, Acerbis steaks you name it hit the track it kills 3 feet minimum on each side
