A lot of ppl just do laps or private races. That's their prerogative but it's cool to see how ppl stack up and tons of top pros venture out into the public sphere to put their egos to the test. It also really helps with race craft and learning IMO versus private/solo lapping.

Finally watched this. I don't follow any of their social media stuff (I don't have any sm accounts anyway)... My impression: Hailee is more well-spoken than Haiden. I definitely like watching Haiden race, but man, the dude/bro speak is always cringey. That's not just him, it's a generational thing. My Nephew and his girlfriend...both in their 20's, have the "like" syndrome when they speak. "Like" is every 4th word....it's just awful.
Exposure for the sport....sure. ...but how many people following him are going to go out and buy a motorcycle and start riding in the "bulldozer" parenting world we live in. Even fewer are going to follow in Hailee's footsteps.
All that said....two kids who have worked hard to reach where few get to in motor sports, something for mom and dad to be proud of.

Dick Trickle is the winningest short track driver of all time, plus he won two Busch series races in what many would call inferior equipment. Hailie Deegan’s best finish in the same series was a 12th in 2024. There are no parallels between Trickle and Hailie Deegan. Maybe she will find her groove in Open Wheel racing though.

There were a lot of races I was going to win at Milwaukee, but I had mechanical problems or something would happen, ... In the early years, it just took a long time for me to win a race. I got in somebody's oil one time and got in the wall, had a clutch go out once. . . so when I finally won one, it was a long time coming.
