In spite of the production, not because of, but this is the part where the corporate overlords take it as a signal to double down on the corny stuff that no other respectable sport does. "See it's working! Let's pat ourselves on the back"

Hhhmmmmm…. Nobody’s going to the movies on Saturdays anymore, and Peacock is ridiculously cheap. I’m sure stats are up across the board for Peacock. Supercross is the same show and content as it has been for years, more people are not all of a sudden into Supercross.

How did they start watching?

One was my buddy who rides in the woods a little bit, I made him go to southwick and gillette a few years in a row and eventually he caught the bug and now watches every race religiously. After going a few times he started to know who the guys were and their stories and who he likes or not and once he knew who was who he got hooked.

Another is my mom, never cared for the sport even though me and my dad watched it our whole lives and I raced when I was a kid. She actually kind of hated it due to some injuries and a death in the family from motorcycles. She started following ken roczens dog on instagram @rioroczen94 at some point and fell in love with him and kenny. Is now a die hard roczen fan and watches every race and almost likes it even more than my dad now.

The last one is a guy I know at work who races quads (only guy Ive ever met who does this, pretty cool but rare). Once the races started coming back to gillette he decided to go after we talked about it at work a bit and now he watches supercross every weekend since.

-My first buddy and his gf and kid all watch it together so thats actually technically 3 people alone now that I think of it.

Now imagine how fast viewership would grow if it was LIVE and FREE on YouTube where EVERYONE could actually watch!!!

it's a HUGE dis-service to our industry for the racing to be behind a paywall. That KILLS the number of people that can watch it. I remember watching an interview, it may have been with AP7, where he talked about his uncle being unable to watch him race because he simply wasn't gonna pay for it.

The Pay to watch model is GREAT for 2 people. TWO PEOPLE!!! But screws the riders, the consumer, and all the manufacturers. Amazing to me the riders and manufacturers allow this to go on. They are the ones putting their lives and spines on the line, yet all the phaattttt pay to watch money goes to someone they've never even met.

None of our riders will ever go "Mainstream" behind a paywall. But imagine how fast they would Live and Free on YT!!! Supercross is literally Evel Knievel X1000 every saturday night. It's a Great sport to watch!! It could easily "take off", if the masses could actually lay eyes on it!! But no, instead a couple of greedy f'ers will keep our sport smaller just so they can cash hundreds of millions in checks from NBC.

For those on the east coast not having to start watching at 10:30 pm and staying up until 1:30 am means a lot. Starting most of the races early makes it easier for the whole family to get involved.

I can see that helping but I would often watch the show Sunday morning. I wonder  how that counts toward the numbers. Of course, this is the only sport I follow so I’m sure the average viewer wouldn’t take the time to watch the next day, so you may be on to something.

Yeah, I rarely watch on Saturday night, I’m always busy so I like to watch it throughout the day Sunday and Monday when I’m working. Always wonder if that counts towards the numbers

My take - you have to "Stream" on Peacock to see the majority of the races now so, by default, the streaming numbers are now high.  How many races during the year can now be watched on a network rather than streaming - only a few.

Yeah, this is just a comparison of streaming vs streaming.  And the Peacock streaming hasn't been around very long.

The question is, how many people are streaming the Peacock broadcast, vs how many people were watching live on Fox Sports Net a few years ago?

Good for Peacock if the Peacock audience is growing.  And probably good for us, because that means the Peacock broadcast might continue into the future (or some other streamers want to compete for the rights).  Yeah, the production of the Peacock broadcast needs work, but I think the actual options to watch are pretty solid now:  every SX/MX/SMX event is now available to watch live, AND they are all available to watch on replay.  And I think usually the replay is shown on CNBC on Sunday nights.  Prior to Peacock, these were not guaranteed.

The races used to be uploaded to youtube, just not by feld. When I was in the military thats how I watched racing for 5 years in the barracks. They got uploaded a few hours after the race, so Id just watch em on sunday. Unfortunately thats not the case anymore, they prob get taken down to copyright. A lot of times the outdoors still ends up on there though.

Yeah same, I personally recruited 3 new fans, lol. Two long time friends of mine who I took out to a race and they fell for it right away, and a guy at work who has a couple buddies who watch the races also has started getting more into it after watching some GP's and RDL's with me when the shop is slow.
