Im not distraught over a mud race, but what about paddling around with feet down in mud makes you think supercross?
That's just what a muddy supercross is,
"Akshully that was a great race where you couldn't see anything and almost nothing was happening. You guys just want cookie-cutter races where people go fast and jump big obstacles and pass each other. BORING."
I meannnn Hopper has got a point. Maybe exaggerated it a bit, but he's not entirely wrong.

A mudder throws some adversity at the riders and can shake up the points. Great mud riding is a skill like anything else. Do I want to see 3-4 mudders a year? Hell no. Last year was getting ridiculous. But am I going to cry in my beer like the guy in here last night? "Races should only be in domed stadiums! Too bad they can't postpone the race until Sunday." Gimme a break. Last night was very entertaining considering the conditions. It's racing, mother nature throws curveballs at you. Even sx
Mud races suck! Love the shakeups that come from them, but I dont even bother to watch. Nothing fun about watching them paddle around the track
I watched the mains twice.... there's some good stuff in there. It sure beats repeat-o-cross tracks week after week. Don't want a mudder every week....but diversity is a good thing.
Yeah because the previous round was so boring with no close racing, while in the mud race, the winner’s fastest lap was just 4sec faster than guy who got 2nd, and 3rd was only 17sec slower, so amazing! 🙄
I do prefer the dry tracks over a mud race. Funny thing was I loved to race when it was a mud race. I always did well in them for some reason. One or 2 per season isn't the end of the world.
I would rather watch a muddy National than a muddy SX. There have been a loot of different winners and I wouldn't say its been a boring season.
It was a pretty action packed race last night though. The Monster girls always look great when they are wet or dry, They were the real hero's last night .Wearing those outfits in heavy rain that was almost cold enough for snow. Webb pulling off a miracle. KTM guys having trouble with their bikes being attracted to the tower. AP riding amazing and I wonder if he may have lapped everybody if they did not cut the time of the race down. It was cool to see local Harrington qualify 7th . I was hoping he would make the main and have a decent ride. He was moving up through and dropping back just as he was close to the spot he needed. McEllrath rode awesome. It was cool to see almost everybody super excited on the podiums after the race. And guys belly flopping. Who knows all the other wild stuff that may have happened but there was so much smoke and steam that nobody was able to see them happen. I guess it was pretty wild and exciting compared to a dry race.
BUT I would still rather watch a race with 2 or 4 guys battling back and forth ,racing cleanly for an entire 20 minute main with a finish of the top 4 only a few seconds apart. Instead of one guy almost lapping everybody, and almost have time to do his podium interview before second crossed the line, for sure enough time to do the interview before 3rd crossed. I am happy for AP. I was thinking he was going to win when I saw all the rain coming down. But that was even better than I expected.
Could he repeat this weekend? I really wish I was able to get to Philly, I didn't notice it was an East/West combo round until the other day when they were talking about it. But My mother needs me more than I need to watcha race in person. I'll be watching with her , like every race for about 10 years now. I'm not as bummed about missing the race after seeing the long-term forecast .
it is great to experience SX more like what I remember when I got the bug.
No .001 lap time differences.
good start helps, but not as much as perseverance (ex. gage Linville)
Cooper webb is on a mission.
That last lap charge from a rider not known for his mud abilities is legendary.
I did not say that at all. I was talking about the conditions. Lets just get rid of the dirt and every week the conditions will be the same.
