Markets tanking 🙄

Ask people how much they were losing out of their 401k when Biden was in. I was losing around $5k a month.

Just like it was stated, there will be a dip in the market temporarily.

Must have been during covid but even taking that into account the S&P was up over 60% during his 4 years. Not that he had anything to do with it.

I'm 56 and travelled in the US lots over the years - either racing when i was younger or many cycling trips in SC/NC in later years. I'm back to racing again with my kid. We spent a few weeks in SC/NC/GA/FLA.....An anecdotal observation and i suppose a question from a Canadian.?? Do you guys really notice a major increase in cost of living ??

I've been around to see our CDN dollar be close to worthless monopoly money and also at par or close a few times. So it was sometimes a reasonable cheap vacation and sometimes less so but never bad. But always a better deal than we could find in Canada even when the exchange rate was terrible. We started noticing around 2019 on our cycling trips to Asheville/Brevard area - The groceries and dinners out seemed to suddenly get pricey. My son and i stopped on the way to FLA this winter - 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 pops. $52.50 USD ! ! ! WTF. Every meal seemed like it was $100 no matter what we ordered. Am i just an old guy living in yesteryear or have things gone bananas ??? Our cost of living in Canada has sky rocketed but feels like more so in US ?

Anyway - love America and my America friends - politics aside. :-)

If you were all in on stocks before this melt down, you kind of had this coming. There's been so many red flags: yield curve inversion, off the charts sky high price to earnings ratios, gold melting up the past 12 months, sticky inflation, high interest rates. These are all flashing red lights for equities. We've had a big old stock market bubble bobbing along, just looking for a pin.

Clearly tariffs are suicide for a service sector based, highly indebted society, that's spent the past 50 years systematically sending their manufacturing sectors overseas, and is addicted to imports. I'm not sure what's Trump play is, but maybe it's been decided that it's safer to implode this bubble in a controlled manner at a time of your own choosing. I voted for Trump, and will continue to give him the benefit of the doubt, but these tariffs are cyanide to this bubble.

Biden right?

What do you feel would’ve been the best course of action for the $36T debt? Just let it go and keep building?

There is nobody currently in Congress or the white house that has the balls to take on the debt in a meaningful way. I'm not sure how that relates to your 401K losing 5 grand a month while the market was up considerably though.

That wasn’t the question now was it? When he left office, the market was rallying under the optimism of the new president elect.

The answer is, no it hasn’t reached Biden Era lows. Nice attempt at deflection. You swung for the fences but you only bunted.

Lemme guess, you work either in a gunpowder or inhalant factory where you’re inhaling and eating that sh-t all day. Unless you’re one of those little tree huggers and that sh-t might mess up your perdy little environment (that your govt let burn all to hell). Alright, explain your f-ckin world-changin tariff schematic that your talking so much sh-t about. I probably shouldn’t have put such big words in there for your backwoods-cross eyed dumb-ss.

Oh Joey, it's pretty hilarious that you think you're the smartest guy here.....all I've ever seen you do is repeat the talking points your Daddy Donald tells you to.

12 straight months of inflation decline?

I didn't see that here in the real world.

Can you please share some legit data to back that up that isn't a meme.
