I Bought Back My 2005 CR 250

What’s going on guys, long story short I bought Back my personal 2005 CR 250. My dads buddy bought it from us back in 05 or 06 I cant exactly remember. But he rode it 1 time crashed and put it in a shipping container at his shop and that’s where it sat until I picked it up Jan of 2021. Ended up paying 3000 dollars for it just say I have my old CR back. Since then I’ve been traveling spinning wrenches, running Anchor full time and jumping in and out to help with triumph stuff over the last year. Now that I’ve slowed down I went upstairs in the shop this afternoon and pulled it down, grabbed an old Race bike out of the closet and started seeing what can work and what needs to be tinkered with a little bit. Plan with this bike is to build what would be a modern HRC 250r. Will try to keep this updated with pictures along the way and try different things to see what can and can’t work and bring all you guys along.
Cheers Corie 🤙🏼

Going to see about using the short body PC shock and forks off of this bike, will put the shock in tomorrow and check measurements and see what exactly needs to be done. Was going to try to do a Brembo clutch and front brake set up but like I said We will see what I end up going with in the end.

Excellent, look forward to seeing your progress!

Can you top BlackDiamond's build?

Have that one saved in my notes.

BlackDiamond's ignition and power valve maps make a huge difference to the bike's performance.

Idk if I should look at this thread considering my CR250 syndrome! Haha Everytime I see a clean low hours CR250 it makes me need one!

How many hours do you think that bike has? 10?

Looks like the original rear tire on it.... Gotta love that.

I have some extra A kit showa shocks that are set up for that bike. Also a lot of new CMT carbon fiber I don't need.

What are your plans to make her rip motor wise?

What CMT carbon parts do you have? I might be interested on a couple.

Love these bikes. I had 2 burn up in a fire unfortunately. Bought a 2018 TC 250 but even after revalves etc I still perferred the Honda. I've got another one now, really benefits from a larger front brake rotor and a fork revalve. Biggest thing is the PWK with a STIC though, that provides the two things that motor needs. More bottom and more over rev.
