Honda's 250 program

Seems like the Honda 250 program is in disarray since the Lawrences moved up. Wasn't there talk of Honda going back to a Star, PC type program once the Lawrences moved up like they had with GEICO?

It was always going to be tough to maintain the highs of 2023-24.

Is it wise to have a thin bench of riders like Honda has done recently? 

When Star loses even an elite guy like Tomac, they don't miss a beat.

I believe Lars said in an interview that it didn’t make sense to just throw a rider on the 450 if it wouldn’t help develop the bike for Supercross. There would have to be a rider with similar style/pace to further development. They must not feel like there’s a rider that fits the bill.

My initial thought was Honda was rumored to have plans to have a satellite 250 program at one point after the Lawrences moved up.

Phoenix was supposed to transition to that for them. Not sure what changed. I know Ziggy is there and Dylan is getting factory parts, but they’ve got a long way to go for their 250 team.
