Check out the trivia game I just went live with at smxmuse.com
It is powered by my own curated database and has basically all accessible stats and results from the sport in it.
Just glance at the How To Play page and you should be good to go! If you have ever played immaculategrid.com for MLB, NFL, NBA, etc., it is the same format and where I drew my inspiration from.
This is my first big coding project so any feedback about how the game operates or answers you think should be counted as correct/incorrect would be greatly appreciated. You can DM me on instagram or X (@smxmuse) for both or send me an email at feedback@smxmuse.com

Dope
Interesting game. Definitely makes you think 👍
just a heads up the formatting when viewing on my chromebook is off. the categories across the top are hidden in browser view.. if i go to full screen i can see them.

A couple bugs but excellent idea for a game. I read in the rules that you couldn’t guess a rider twice, but when my card came back there were repeat riders in each row. That could be on me, and other than that the game is pretty flawless
Thanks for the feedback. Formatting for different devices was a chore and I finally got it to a good spot with phones and desktops but I still need to work on the in-between sized screens like chromebooks and tablets.
So would riders like RJ and Hannah count as having 20+ 450 SX wins?
It seems like I have to click on a name 2 or 3 times before it is accepted.
here is how it shows up
and then full screen
I believe you are referring to the summary page that displays after the game. The first grid on that page shows the most popular guesses from each cell from all games played so there will certainly be times where a rider has been used most often in at least one cell. But in each individual game, a rider can only be guessed once, their name gets removed from the pool of riders once they have been picked. Hope this clears it up!
Yes! That category is 250/450 class throughout the years.
Cool concept, I think I did ok, I picked really "rare" guys but missed one category I think. Look forward to playing more in the future! (Sorry for the camera flash!)
if this is an ipad press the power button and volume down at the same time to take a screenshot next time 👍
Gotcha, this was very helpful, thank you!
I went live with an update earlier this week that should fix the formatting issues on medium sized screens like laptops and chromebooks. It looked a lot better on my laptop so I’m hoping it did the trick.
It would be nice if there was a way to check my score from previous days. I do mine early, and would be curious to check my score after everyone has played, as that's my real score. Not sure if this needs accounts or can be done via browser only.
Adding accounts and eventually a viewable/playable archive are definitely things on my list of future additions. For now, you can go back and refresh the page throughout the day to see your score update. The rarity scores are live and update after each guess is made across all games. Thank you for playing!
Just launched a massive update that includes user profiles, a grid archive, and a daily rarity leaderboard. The game plays the same as before but now you can create an account and track your progress across devices. You can also view your old, completed grids and play grids you missed out on! Making a profile is optional but if you do, you get to see your stats like total games played, average score, and average rarity.
Check it out at smxmuse.com and go to my instagram and twitter @smxmuse for more stats and analysis of our great sport!
Pit Row
The page load time is a bit long at the moment for the profile and archive pages, 20-25 seconds. I will continue working on shaving that down but if you find any other quirks or issues with the site, DM me on instagram or email feedback@smxmuse.com
Love the new update! I like being able to play the ones I missed, and seeing where I stack up in rarity points
Yesterday I uploaded moto scores for the 125/250f class from 1974-1997 as they weren't in my database previously. I had to delve into the Cycle News archives to get the results and for the races in the 1990s where they had the results for all 40 riders, I was also able to add the non-points paying finishers. This added 155 new riders to my new database.
This will positively affect two categories in smxmuse grids. 250 MX 1+ 1-1 Overall Wins (1998-Present) will now just be 250 MX 1+ 1-1 Overall Wins and 250 MX Top 20 Moto Finish (1998-Present) will just be be 250 MX Top 20 Moto Finish. No more date restrictions!
I have begun work on adding the non-points paying results for the 250/450 class in the 1990s as well as the moto results from 1972-1985 as none of those are freely available other than the archives.
Try grid 116 today as it has the new and improved 250 MX Top 20 Moto Finish category!
Grid 144 today should be a fun one! Four manufacturers and two countries! If you haven't played yet, give it a shot! The more people that play, the lower the rarity scores can get.
smxmuse.com
Today’s grid, grid 146, has opportunities for a lot of unique answers and low rarity scores! Play it now and explore the archives if you are a new user at smxmuse.com!
I put Damon Huffman for "Raced in 2000's" and "Honda" and it didn't accept it.
Really fun game, I can definitely see this becoming an active tab on my phone browser for a long time. Great work!
Sorry about that. I made a change to him and a few other riders last night removing their middle initial and forgot to push those changes to the game which is why there was a disconnect. It has been fixed.
You have to know your Australian riders for today's grid! Let's see some deep cuts!
Today's grid, #148, is heavy on the 250 class! Let's see some 9/9s!
Great work on the game! Having a lot of fun trying to get good rarity scores, and sometimes just getting 9/9 in general haha. If you're continuing to work on it, I think it'd be neat to have a display in the box after choosing a rider with how many people chose them. I know you could roughly calculate using the percentage and games played but sometimes I'm too lazy to math... Thanks again for your work!
That's awesome, thank you for playing! I will take note of that, I'm always interested in trying to tweak and add more to the game. I'm glad people enjoy it.
