So he who shall not be named is saying that sexton signed with kawi this week. Hes saying its a done deal. We all know to take what he says with a grain of salt, but he usually doesnt say something is 100% confirmed unless its true. At least not something like this. If true it seems kind of weird with the prado signing, but maybe this is so kawi can win now and prado win later? Chase didnt like having jett on honda with him so it would be interesting to see the dynamic. Ktm is prob gonna move tom up to 450 if he wins this year so idk if theyll be signing another #1 but who knows. Whats up with everyone trying to go to kawi? Is the bike that good?

As a Chase fan I really hope it's not true and he stays with KTM. Of course Chase knows what's best for him. But from what we've seen from him on the Honda and KTM, it's not the bike
🤣😂
I dont think it is a good idea if true. Hes the #1 guy at ktm and he has the bike figured out now and is riding great. Everyone talks about how fast he was on the honda but he also washed out the front and crashed every other race. On the ktm hes a muuuuch more well rounded rider. He was an animal in mx and in sx he looks great riding wise, hes just made mental mistakes. Hopping around from bike to bike means hes gonna be starting at square one again with testing and settings.

This guy?
I didn't click.
Chance ktm has a new bike next year right? If it stays on current cycle. I don’t see how anyone would say this(if true obviously) is a bad move for sexton or kawi if they can afford it. Maybe the ktm financial issues mean cut backs to race team development and it worries him. That is obviously not confirmed I’m just pointing out none of us know what’s going on behind closed doors.
He’ll be losing a lot of freedom with what he can put on the motorcycle if he goes to Kawi and certainly won’t be allowed to put KYB internals in Showa forks. He’ll also have to learn a completely new bike after he’s pretty much sorted out the KTM and the bike he is currently on will remain unchanged for the upcoming season. Unless there is a significant pay bump, I don’t see him leaving KTM.
He’ll be going to the best chassis in the class which seems to be where he has had most of his problems in the past. I think it’s a good move if he does/did sign.
What's wrong with giving credit to where credit is due?
Looks like you answered your own question with a post.
They let Tomac run KYB at Kawi, and he didn't have to hide it in another manufacturers' tubes and stickers, so he had KYB support. Why specifically wouldn't Sexton be allowed?
Yea I frel like with a guy like sexton you do what you gotta do. Ktm was notoriously pretty strict with what they allowed to happen as well until it became necessary.
Cooksey is off his rocker but if he says it's a done deal I would bet it's more than a 50% chance it's correct (more probable than not). He screws up the subjective stuff but has proven to be right on more objective things. It's unfortunate; i would rather he be discredited completely.
I think he’d mesh perfectly with that bike. Sexton and Prado both on a Kawi? Sheeeeeeesh 🥵🥵🥵
Yeah he definitely fills in the blanks A LOT and is often wrong on details, which is super irresponsible as a media guy and especially since he constantly cries about fake news, but whatever the core claim is, if he's making it with confidence, it usually turns out to be true.
The number 4 back on Kawasaki would look awesome.
I’m sure Chase knows what he’s doing a lot more than a bunch of vital guys sitting on their couch eating Krispy Kremes and drinking whiskey. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
He’s not really media, he’s a YouTuber. Every sport probably has some Joker YouTuber guy.
He is often correct just a little far fetched.
We also need someone who isn’t scared to talk about controversial shit not just the standard story lines by the media.
I'm not being sarcastic but where do you get that the Kawi is the best chassis? Based on what? From a outsiders perspective I would think the Yamaha is the best platform. Again, genuine question. I'm not being an asshole lol
Pit Row
Would love to see him on kawi!
Tomac to Ducati? Fuck outa here
I took one for the team and listened to the vid—he says ,”IT IS NOT CONFIRMED “ but it’s a strong rumor that he signed with Kawi, so he’s being up front that he heard but did not confirm the rumor.
Kawi is probably the worst team to sign on to these days.
How did OP and multiple other posters on here get “he said it’s 100% confirmed” from that?
I heard Suzuki is looking for a Number 1 rider.
How long was Eli with Kawasaki before they let him use different suspension components? We can also point out Kawasaki’s stance on MXdN but my point is they are more strict than KTM.
For personal reasons I kind of want Chase to go to Kawasaki because him and Prado as a team would be 🔥
They let Tomac use KYB when he came to the team in 2016 because that was what he was comfortable with.
This was his team reveal photoshoot in 2015:
It's like they are trying to win a championship, or something.
I’m going off tests and general feedback. It’s been widely regarded as the most forgiving and most comfortable to ride. Yamaha had the claim to it before the 23 came out. And I don’t think the competition is very stiff right now. The Honda has been finicky, we’ve seen KTM struggles the last couple years getting chase comfortable and mookies drop in whoop speed is certainly chassis related.
Considering Sexton's riding style and how much stress he puts on the front end. The Kawi would be a good fit for him. The current generation Kawi has amazing front end feel and grip. Though I don't believe he'll be going anywhere considering how well he's doing.
Yea thats what I’m saying. He exaggerates a lot and is fast and loose with some details, especially when its people he doesnt like, but he doesnt really ever just make stuff up out of thin air. It may not be happening, but itll be interesting to see. Where theres smoke theres fire.
