I'd go so far as to say that these folks believe that THEY are more important than the deadly serious duty they swore to.  Idgaf that some fuckwit from the other "side" has done as bad or worse.  That ain't the goddamn point is it?

Seems to be the main difference between trumptards and the rest of the world.  Some want everyone held accountable, regardless of party affiliation.  Others are in a cult.

I just cant find anything to cry about on this topic - maybe I'm not sensitive enough.

Still not sure what the big deal is.

The strikes were successful and nothing was compromised.

They got a good lesson on cyber security - which is good and also funny.

Trump opened up an investigation on Gov employees using signal. So it's shed light on that.

Elon is also bringing in more sec consultants for more pen testing - which is great.

Was this worse than Bengazi where Americans were left behind to fend for themselves?

Was it worse than biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan where 13 Americans lost their lives?

Is it worse than burning out cities?

Is this worse than fire bombing Tesla dealerships?

Is this worse than opening our borders and letting criminals in to rape and kill?

Is this worse than forced vaccinations?

It’s funny what you focus on.

Let’s put things in perspective. At least you’re not bitching about the cost of eggs.

Trump ‘28!!!

You boys are fucking delusional, it’s always “but what about”

The fact that you still don't understand that people are mocking republicans about the price of eggs says a lot.

And when the only defense you have for your incompetent leadership being incompetent is whataboutism.. well that says even more.

You may not know this but Biden is no longer the president, may want to seek help for your BDS.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy. Thanks for making my point.

maybe this should be investigated to the same degree as when cocaine was found in the Whitehouse.

Why does every meme MAGA shares look like it was drawn in mspaint on Barb's blackberry in 2002?

When you were overseas with your security clearance, do you think your superiors would have thought it was nothing if you were in an AOL chat with journalists discussing plans for upcoming operations or do you think there might have been some consequences for that?

The fact that you can't find the thing to be concerned about is just telling on yourself.

There would be hell to pay if something was compromised.  But that isnt the case with this topic.

However, AOL wasnt encrypted. In fact it was coded in FDO98. Their TOC protocol was easy to back engineer. So we wouldn't of used that. lol

But please enlighten me more with your expertise on security.

Not matter how I look at it  - I just cant find anything to cry about.

This topic to give it a moto analogy. It's like someone watching McGrath race for the first time and seeing him crash and still win. But not having knowledge about the sport ,saying MC sucks even though he won. He laid the bike down on lap 2 in the corner. Guy couldnt even make a corner - he sucks Yamaha needs to drop him.

And if you want to get personal please explain whats telling about me. Then I will take my turn.

Hegseth is a confirmed liar in this instance which should also finally raise red flags for everyone but it somehow isn't.  Jury is out on if he was wasted or not.

So it's your argument that nothing was "compromised" in this case?

And that it's OK because signal is encrypted, even though the pentagon had said not to use it for multiple reasons, including potential security issues and that using it violates record retention laws?

And that it's no big deal that someone deep inside Trump's administration invited a journalist who openly hates Trump into the conversation?

And that this will have no impact on how much our allies can trust us with information? And that their lack of trust could never be detrimental to our interests?

You believe all of that, right?

You can choose to overlook all of that if you want to, but pretending there's nothing at all here is telling on yourself in the sense that you're incapable of being objective and will just interpret anything and everything in Trump's favor.

Prove me wrong and list a few things you think Trump has ever done wrong. Be specific.

Pardner, I don't care for the fella and this incident ain't inspiring any confidence but let's not fall into that trap.  He appears to be a liar (denying the whole thing while POTUS says it was a fuck up and is being fixed).

He'll either get with the program or keep stepping on his dick.  Time will tell.

It's a fact that nothing was compromised that hurt the mission and the mission was a success. Not my opinion - it's fact.
No matter how much you want it to be opinion - it's fact. You cant go back and change history. lol

No messaging app or service is 100% secure.
Nothing is 100% secure connected to any network - I've already stated on here many times over the years.

IMO it was a good sec lesson for them. It's also opened up a government wide spread investigation on folks using signal.

I'm sure our allies had a good laugh too. We were still successful and that even makes it sweeter and it's ok to laugh about,.

As far as Trump goes I dont support everything he does. I believe he has treaded on the 2A.
He should've abolished the NFA his first minute in office. He's also not aggressive enough on domestic terrorism or illegal immigration IMO.
Also when it comes to foreign policy - I believe he's way too nice to Putin. He's also not doing enough with mental health in this country. Bring back the asylums!
But at this time he's the best we got - to me he's a tiny little step in the right direction for the
country.

I read it.  I don't see anything in there  to cry about still.  It's actually funny.,I'm glad it happened and the mission was a success. They got a free sec lesson. lol Plus they still  brought hell to the enemy.   Now had they'd been compromised and we had a loss of US life and not had a successful mission. I'd be for putting them in jail for the rest of their lives.

The problem is that there just aren't enough consequences here for the dems to validate their hypothesized beliefs.  The mission was successful, and the security issues are being addressed.  Besides the usual hyperbole, what else is there to this story?

Yep - human error is certainly being addressed.  They will learn from this - which is good.

IMO the lesson learned is the most valuable thing and learning it without the loss of life or a failed mission is sweet!

What lesson needs to be learned if nothing that was done was a problem? Why lie about it after clearly being exposed if there was nothing wrong with it?

It obviously wasn't a BIG problem if the mission was successful and not compromised.  They will get some good opsec  lessons too.

Security can always improve. I'm all for teaching people lessons on that.

Some are  trying to turn a tiny little worm hole that doesn't matter into a mountain. And for what?  To have something to cry about?

As I already stated in regards to it being a problem. It's identical to the MC analogy I used.  Laying a bike down in a corner isnt a big problem - especially when you get up and win the race. You learn something from it and move on to the next round. And only goons  would stand around and say that racer sucks - he needs to be cut from the team. Yes as racers we would call those folks idiots and for good reason.

As far as politicians not being honest.  Welcome to the world! It's been like that for many years - and no matter what I dont believe it will ever change, no matter what political party is in existent.

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) outlined in a guide for federal employees late last year that encrypted messaging platforms such as Signal better protected officials against foreign enemy hackers amid a Chinese-linked cyber breach. CISA is an office under the Department of Homeland Security's umbrella that is charged with ensuring cybersecurity across all levels of government.

Under the Biden administration in 2024, CISA released a "Mobile Communications Best Practice Guidance" for "highly targeted individuals," who were defined as high-ranking government officials or politicians who are "likely to possess information of interest to these threat actors." The document specifically addressed high-targeted politicos and officials, though it noted the guide was "applicable to all audiences."

No lesson needs to be learned if nothing that was done was wrong. There is no reason to lie about something that has already been exposed if you have nothing to hide.

Better?

I do not agree at all that because the mission didn't suffer that there's nothing to be concerned about.

Please tell me what was compromised. What damage it's caused?  I've read everything on the subject. I haven't found anything that was a "Big Problem".

The concerns are minor and have been addressed. It's also led to more security type investigations. They will beef up opsec with Elons consultants.

What security concerns do you still have relating directly to this topic?

This secure messaging isn't rocket science, why act so reactively?  Just because no lives where lost doesn't mean this shouldn't have been done in a much more professional manor.  Ya know, like a superpower defense organization should act, according to protocols that make sense.  Could you agree that it's not a good stance to wait to take action until after one of these incompetent moves kills someone/everyone?  Why not be more proactive, have better procedures and abide by them?

It's ok to laugh about?  I won't even touch on that opinion.
