What is our Global Trade deficit? We need to start being manufacturers again and not just consumers. Our economy can’t survive on egg heads alone.

My best guess is... It's going to ping pong back and forth for a bit and they are going to keep raising them on both sides -until one side gives in,  Trump has mentioned RECIPROCAL Tariff's numerous times in the past 10 days or so.

Here's one of his statements. Make of it what you will.

Or no side is giving in and Trump uses this as a reason to cuddle a little closer to Putin, who will happily substitute Canada.

They gonna send electricity to Germany?

Maybe we'll build an electric fence across the border in case the tangerine tyrant decides to send a few good old boys up north.

The U.S.’s global trade deficit was 918 BILLION dollars in 2024. Yeah, I support Trump straightening that shiz out.

Why would anyone trust the United States of America?

I can take a shit in a box and slap a label that says "trade agreement" on it, hell I got the time, doesn't mean it will be worth anything.

The funny thing is Trump is railing against the agreements he signed in his 1st term. Greatest trade deal in history some called it, yet here we are.

I've seen a  couple sources reporting that "US & Ukraine to Sign Minerals Deal Today" .  Trump wants to get it done before his 9PM EST speech tonight.

We'll just call in the money the US owes to us and use that. You owe us $328 Billion dollars. Pay up.

It was a great trade deal, a tremendously great trade deal, some have said the greatest trade deal ever made. But the newer trade deals are even greater. Tremendously greater. The best trade deals since the last best trade deals. Only a stupid person, a very stupid person, wouldn’t agree to these being the bestest.

So you don't understand how that works, eh?

Canada bought the US debt because US debt has generally been a good investment. It's bonds and other securities.

I'm so confused right now what the hell is going on in USA right now. You just abandoned almost every western ally you had and jumped to same ship with communist dictatorships like Russia and North-Korea. How's that a good thing?

Leaving Ukraine to Russians who will rape and destroy the country will not do any good for anyone except Putin

It amazes me how suddenly Trump fans think that is good thing to be friends with Communists? As someone who lives in neighbour county to Russia I know that Russians can't be trusted. Written contracts are just worthless pieces of paper to them.

And with starting trade war you will be shooting your own foot pretty hard. It will send whole western world economy in a downward spiral. Your inflation numbers will be massive because it's takes a lot of time and to start producing everything domestically in the US. For example how many American dirt bike manufacturers there are?

I've spent 20 pages trying to get that across. They don't listen.

PS. We finally got to bring Lynx sleds into our Ski-Doo dealer. Damn those things are fun!

I have to laugh at all the Canadians on here mad that they are no longer allowed to take advantage of America...Also laughing at the liberals who are so butt hurt over Ukraine and the EU being forced to pony up and do their part.

FINALLY America is no longer the punching bag, and bank, of the world...enough is enough...we can't afford it.

It'll be painful in the SHORT TERM...but pay huge dividends in the LONG TERM (as long as the weak libs don't get back in power and reverse everything Trump is doing before we get to see the positive long term benefits)...1 step back, 3 giant leaps forward if people don't chicken out.  At the end of the day, America can't keep doing what its been doing the past 50-60 years...we were heading off a cliff...I'm glad Trump has the balls to change all of that...yes it will be painful in the short term, but well worth it, and far far far better than the consequences of doing nothing different and deficit spend ourselves off a cliff.

Yes.

Your either with us or against us.   I said nothing about the “other side” they sucked and their policies were completely misguided. Joe was a puppet.

How is a tariff abandoning our allies?  Allies should want fair trade between each other...

How is putting a ceiling, and/or pause, on the funds going to Ukraine being friends with communists?  We didn't stop giving Ukraine money and start giving it to the russians.  Our relationship with russia hasn't changed.

And when did all the anti-war, anti-military industrial complex liberals all the sudden become pro-war (be it a proxy war with Russia) and pro-military industrial complex (being okay with all the money going to ukraine because it benefits the military industrial complex here)?

What made America great was the opportunity it provided...not its willingness to engage endlessly in unfair trade agreements (even with allies), and endlessly funding foreign countries defenses (for which we can no longer afford to do).

What Trump is doing will, in the long run, make America greater, because it will increase opportunity here.  Sorry (not sorry) to those who have been taking advantage of us for decades and are no longer allowed too.

Absolutely.

We are $36 TRILLION in debt, but we keep printing more money for other Countries to spend.

So it's not like we are some rich Uncle who is just loaded and has trillions sitting in the bank doing nothing.

We are BROKE, racking up expenses on the USA credit card for other Countries. With no plan to be able to repay it. Ever.

US Citizens are tired of being the piggy bank for the whole world, time for the rest of the world to grow up and pay their own bills. And manage their own issues, not make them our problem to solve for them.

There's been a lot happening in a short amount of time. A lot of folks heads are spinning - even within our own government on all sides.

But regardless - I don't foresee the US ever having decent relations with Russia in the long term.  Just wait until Trump says something Putin doesn't like or vice versa. Both of them have huge EGO's and are stubborn. I don't predict that relationship ending well.

Now I've also heard buzz that they(Trump Admin) may be scaling down the Tariff's on Canada & Mexico as soon as tomorrow.

You're looking at it all wrong.

Trump isn't doing what's good for America, he's doing what's good for Trump, and what's good for Trump is to destroy America's standings on the world stage – turning all our allies against us over the absolute dumbest shit – so that when all our Allies have no other choice but to sever their relationships with America Trump can turn to Putin (the person he wants nothing more than to impress) and ask, "Was I good boy?", thus giving Trump the one thing his father would never give him, a pat on the back.

First Trump calls Zelenskyy a dictator, then he says Ukraine invaded Russia, then he tries to "negotiate" with Zelenskyy by giving Putin everything he's asking for while offering Zelenskyy nothing Ukraine needs, and now Trump is freezing Aid to Ukraine and lifting sanctions on Russia.

Congrats Russia on a well played propaganda game! Took 70 years but you got yourselves an American President.
