What a dumpster fire. Is this what’s referred to as “growing the sport?” I’m always amazed at how people get a pass for being complete douche bags because they’re famous for being a great athlete, singer, movie star etc. Character matters just as much, if not more to me than your accomplishments. It’s why I always was a Dungey fan. Even locally, some of the fastest kids are nothing but disrespectful punks on and off the track. Not a great look right now for the broadcast team is it?
Remember that one race last year where there was some sort of technical issue, and you couldn’t hear the broadcasters for 5-10 minutes? Just the sounds of the race? That was the best race coverage I’ve ever seen. Wish that was an option, I’d pick it every time.

If Daniel Blair and GL do a ride companion type deal where I can basically mute the broadcast and stream them commentating in real time I would pay money for that. Even if all they had was Bondo’s moronic cuts to work with they’d still put together an offering relevant to the market and what we would enjoy more than the current deal.

Feld was all in on Blair and told him he was “the guy” for the broadcasts, it was NBC that wanted Dippey, and Blair took the back seat until Dipstick, RC and Bondo puked on with their fragile egos and frankly shallow intelligence.
just watched the whole video. Compelling story, yes. I can't help but scratch my head and ask, however, "What does this actually accomplish?" - Hell, people come and go in our industry...but nobody puts out a 30m video explaining why they quit their job. His entire story sounds like virtually every corporate office on earth...
The unfortunate thing here is, Leigh and RC likely won’t be going anywhere. DB won’t ever be given the chance to call a race again (and even if he didn’t he would probably say no).
At this point I think 90% of vital is rooting for Will over Leigh and RC now lmao

Yes, that was my take as well. Many of them haven’t experienced the corporate world and still operate in a space where a name or a handshake carries (or once carried) real weight. Statements like “I almost knocked him out” say a lot. It’s all quite sad.

Ha, the guy put it out there for the whole world to see- he openly admitted that the thought of knocking out a senior executive in a business meeting crossed his mind. There’s no way to put a positive spin on that. It says nothing about me, except that I understand how completely unacceptable that would be. Even considering it is absurd.
lol. There is literally nothing wrong with the thought. It would be wrong to act on it. We can’t control our thoughts but we can control if we act on them or not. And that’s where morality and character come in to play.

I agree with you on the emotions and I think thoughts are part of it as well. We don’t manifest them. Thoughts move in and out of our heads all day, where do they come from? On some root level I don’t think we control them. Obviously when it comes to problem solving or teaching /learning something we have an ability to shape our thoughts.
So you think about killing people all day? Or jumping out of your office building? I'd hope not, and we control these thoughts by many methods. You also control thoughts/emotions by living your life a certain way. Don't want to think about porn all of the time? Well quit watching porn. See how that works?
