I was flagging right at the wall jump and all through the untimed and first qualifying sessions everyone was doing the big double and then rolling the wall and making huge ruts in the single afterwards. In the last 250 A qualifier Hardy Munoz started sending the wall jump over the next single. As a flagger my job is to look down track to the jump landing and on to the next jump and just glance up track, so when he first did it I just caught a bike over my head, and it shocked the efff out of me. So he starts doing it every lap and the whole section was going nuts for him. Final lap of qualifying he does a huge whip over the first double and then wheelies the length of the straight while looking at the crowd. Of course, he drifted off track and crashed into the side of the finish line jump. Some fans trackside asked me who the heck that was and I just told them: "You folks were just treated to the full Hardy Munoz experience."
Side note: RDL completely ignored doubling the wall jump until Chase hit it in his final lap. By that time Hardy did it first followed by Justin Starling and then Justin Hill. Pretty lame as they had to have heard the crowd going crazy for the guys jumping it.
Anybody got a video of the wheelie and crash???
It's on Munoz's IG
Hardy is the man. The GoPro from him at Mini Os SX a few years ago has to be one of the best on board’s ever recorded. I’ve always been a fan after that.
Did he remove it? I can't find it.

That was the best thing post on Vital in a LONG TIME!
That was great!
This guy has to be on someones radar for a good ride…not saying he does not have a good ride now but, you know like PC type team…
Steve Matthes, this is your privateer replacement for a regular spot on your show like A-Ray etc.
Hardy has heart and BALLS!
Kind of off topic, but does anyone know the story of Hardy’s Monster deal?
I’ve always assumed it was just because he’s gotta be the fastest Chilean on two wheels but am curious if it’s any deeper than that.
It’s from Monster in Chile
Correct
Hardy for sure stepped up this year! Full privateer too, looks like he loves the Yamaha. TLD does his engine so he has a good bike.
