Maybe Dale will have him on his podcast. He just had Lawrence Mitchell (Cleetus McFarland ) on. Lawrence has been saying do it for Dale also.
Is it me or when AP was asked about his connection to Dale Earnhardt in the post race, he stumbled and didn't have an answer other than "he feels him".
Made it seem like the Earnhardt schtick is all for show.
I like AP......but he needs to have a response to that type of thing.

Jr’s podcast is great, first time I listened to it was when he had #18 Bloomquist on.
I became a fan of JR since. Real Deal.
I'm not going to dox the guy but Garrett is his middle name. His real name is Lawrence Garrett Mitchell. Another one of those situations like AC and Webb where they don't use their first name.

I agree. He had the Smokey & the Bandit helmet & the DE3 swag, but I doubt he counted on anyone questioning why. Probably just expected nothing but people yelling "Whoo yeah, doin' it for Dale!!"
The whole shtick gets so cringe-worthy. Good on him for generating some kind of excitement for his "brand", but it really comes off as contrived most of the time. He's a hell of a rider in a few different disciplines, and his family name is legendary in the off-road world. He really doesn't need the act.
He's a ripper on a motocross track though. That's all that really matters.

Yeah, I find the AP bit cringey and fake. Are you a cowboy? Or a southern NASCAR boy? Or from Ohio? And I don't think he knows that much about Dale's history and just likes playing up the image. But other than that AP is a nice guy and works hard so it's good to see him get a podium. Poeple are alloweed to be cringey, this is America.
It's not just you. He's just rolling with the Dale stuff and the cowboy stuff. He was 5 when Dale died.
Whether it’s an act or not is irrelevant because his pedigree is definitely 100% hillbilly. You can’t hide those genetic features he’s sportin. His future was determined at conception.

Its probably confusing if you aren't from the Southeast but you can go to literally any motorsport event around here and you are guaranteed to hear at least a dozen "Do it for Dale" its just a saying and its fun and Dale Jr mentioned on the Cleetus podcast that he loves it and is happy to see his father not forgotten.

Did people really think AP was a NASCAR/Earnhardt fan? It’s more of a pop culture shtick than anything. I don’t think AP going on Jr’s show would do much good for us given that AP probably has little to no knowledge about anything car racing. RC’s appearance on Dale’s show was great because RC actually went and did that kind of stuff for a few years, albeit not great.
