This is one of the lamest memes I've seen LOL.   You expect Ukraine to hold meaningful elections while they are getting bombed by Russia?  Seriously?   YOU don't think Putin would have a field day with all of that LOL? Or maybe you think they'd have a ceasefire to allow the Ukrainians to vote safely.  LOL.    Think about it, use your brain a little.

As for Trump the dictator.... remember the last election he lost (wasn't even close), he put up one helluva fight and didn't want to give up his power.... The only president I ever remember doing that.  And now him and his boy Musk are owners of the social media platforms you all use, and Musk is making a big to do about an AI app he's releasing.  Musk also wants to use X as a payment platform.  They want to own the media you consume, this is what dictators do isn't?     It's right out of the playbook, please use your brain.

Odd...I clearly remember Trump peacefully leaving the white house on Jan 20th, 2021...even left Biden a note wishing him well.  So it's odd you'd say he "put up one helluva fight and didn't want to give up his power"?  If that's what you consider "one helluva fight"...then you and I have a different definition.

What happens between the November election and the January inauguration is when election results should be challenged...every American should want every election to be honest and accurate...Remember the fight Gore put up back in 2000...or 2004...I can't remember which...when he didn't want to concede the election to Bush?, I find nothing wrong with him doing that, I'm glad he did, I respect his right to do that...but on Jan 20th, they'd better accept the results and leave the white house and/or concede the election...which is exactly what Trump did.

All this "Trump is a dictator" garbage is sour grapes, nonsensical fear mongering, and grasping at straws...he won by a mile...the majority of Americans put him BACK (after already experiencing a Trump presidency) in the white house to do exactly what he's doing...and he'll leave the white house peacefully on Jan 20th 2029 (JUST LIKE HE DID THE LAST TIME).

I heard it’s in Ukraine’s constitution that they can’t hold wartime elections.

And I’m not a Zelinski fan. I kind of admired him at first, but he’s been here in a sweatshirt begging too many times.

Ukrainian Constitution does not allow national elections during martial law.  But martial law could be put off for X amount of time to hold an election. But there's more to it...

"The majority of Ukrainians appear to agree. Two of Zelenskyy’s main political rivals, Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, have publicly rejected the idea of wartime elections as impractical and illegitimate. Ukraine’s vibrant civil society has also voiced its opposition to the return of elections before a peace agreement has been signed. Meanwhile, a new opinion poll conducted in February 2025 found that 63 percent of Ukrainians are against holding any national votes until the war with Russia is over."

Have fun waiting on your tax refunds guys! I know u guys probably use that as a way to save money 🤑.

Great timing by President Musk and his assistant Trump and their sledgehammer approach....

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is set to lay off thousands of employees next week, according to a late Friday report by Bloomberg. This decision could strain the tax agency's resources during the crucial tax-filing period.

Good.... Cutting the fat. Just like President Trump said he would. Not worried about my tax refund being delayed there, chicken little. Don't worry, it will all be ok. Enjoy the ride.

USA wasn't getting bombed in 1944, so its hardly the same,

i'd guess a polling booth would be a pretty tempting target for the Russian Millitary,

Britan didnt hold elections during ww2,

I read that all the money they are saving with the buzzsaw, 20% tax refund to the public, 20% pay down the debt, and 60% getting rolled into 2026 budget. In addition to pulling out 50B out of the defense budget and moving it over to whatever Trump is planning.

NYPD reported that it costs the taxpayers $58 million a year for Melania to stay in NYC instead of the White House.  It cost around $18 million for Trump to attend the Super Bowl, and almost that much to drive a car around that NASCAR track (LOL).   Plus Trump stays at Mar-a-lago consistently with his endless golf outings, and it costs us taxpayers a lot of money to secure him.   Can someone have DOGE look into this as a complete waste of taxpayer money?

You'll probably spend it buying Melania meme coins.

Didn't you hear, Musk said that we're all getting checks in the mail!  Like $5000 bro.

I heard somewhere the other day that Trump had to foot the bill himself to cover his trip to the Super Bowl.  I would assume if that’s the case, then his trip to the Daytona 500 would be the same scenario.  I have no idea about Melania and NYC.

I’d rather they use all of it to pay down the debt.:..keep the tax rates the same, continue to reduce spending massively…pay down the debt…once it’s to a manageable level (to the point the government is strategically leveraging debt rather than deficit spending into bankruptcy)…then start cutting taxes, and not increase spending…run a budget surplus (bring in more than is spent)…then strategically determine where to spend a percentage of that budget surplus every year…like improve infrastructure without going into debt…

The bill for the trip to the Super Bowl would have to cover the Secret Services advance team, Secret Service personal on the day, local law enforcement costs before and on the day, Air Force costs for Air Force One, and support aircraft, and cost for transport of the Beast to the Super Bowl, no way he foot the bill for all those costs!

Pretty sure it was on a podcast.  I listen to several per day, can’t remember which one on which day.  I’ll see if I can track it down.

I believe Trump also has some private security - just like Dick Cheney had. The secret service ramped up security for him big time after the Democrats took multiple attempts at assassinating him. Then the Iranian threat.  I believe that tripled the costs of his SS protection.  He went from 90 to 100 agents before the attempt on his life and now I believe he has nearly 300 total including his PSD teams, surveillance teams,counter-sniper teams,counter-assault teams. As far as local police go they typically handle the outer perimeter  security needs,.

I volunteer to help families financially…either to improve their financial situation, with skills training, improving employment, starting a business, budgeting, education etc., or to improve their financial situation by re-structuring/eliminating debt etc. (Again, I don't do this for a living, I'm not a financial advisor or anything,  I just do it on a volunteer basis) . By far the most difficult cases are the families who spend waaaaay more than they make….changing their lifestyle is incredibly difficult…going without things that they are used to and enjoy is painful…but it’s necessary for financial health.

That is the situation our government is in….there are so many things this country spends money on (sometimes those are even good things) that we just can’t afford…the “lifestyle change” to get healthy financially will be painful (incredibly painful for some)..,but it’s absolutely necessary…failure to do so will result in eventual Bankruptcy…and the pain of THAT will make any pain we are experiencing right now feel like a walk in the park!

What DOGE is doing is absolutely necessary…I applaud it…and will result in the long term health of our economy and country.

I can’t understand why anyone can’t see that, and is opposed to it?

I don't think many are opposed to cutting waste, balanced budgets, etc. All that's fine, good, and important. The issue is he's taking a nuclear bomb to something that would be better accomplished with a knife.

Admittedly there’s been little released on the decision making process.  Like any organization the Federal government can reduce headcount and still carry out normal functions.  This “feels” like an aggressive experiment where the effects will be assessed after the fact.  The cuts are unlikely to bring the Fed to its knees, and thousands of people will feel the blow, but after decades of kicking the can down the road, can the aftershock be worse than amassing even great debt loads?

Saw a video today where Trumps approval rating in the US had dropped double digits in the last 2 weeks, and in Russia it had surged over 25 pts.  Crazy how this is spinning the other direction.    They interviewed a few MAGA folks down in Washington and they said they couldn't wait until Trump attended the Russian May Day celebration.    Where do these people come from???

Correct.  I think the UK also did not have an election during WW II.   And for the people demanding Ukraine do have one, how do you expect, in a country being bombed very randomly on a daily basis ,  people to go to the polls like they would during peace time?   I'm always amazed at some of the stuff I read here.  Its like you're making excuses for Russia and Putin.

Yeah while under Martial law - no fed elections allowed.

I'd assume if they even tried the Russians would compromise them/ hack their elections to attempt to get an outcome Putin wants.

Yeah while under Martial law - no fed elections allowed.

The fact they invoked, “Martial Law”, speaks volumes for their constitution.

No…this countries waste problem needs a nuclear bomb…it’s been an utter disaster with waste and corruption at nearly every level and In Every department for decades…it needs to be blown completely up.  He’s handling it perfectly….and doing exactly what he was voted in to do.

I was unaware of that when I made that post…I stand corrected.

Uk did have an election while ww2 was on, twice ..........................Churchhill was elected in 1940 and lost in a landslide in 1945 the election was held in July and the war in the pacific ended in September, stop making shit up.

Dig deeper.

Much like Ukrainians in 2023, the British in 1940 were fighting a war of national survival. Every October for five consecutive years, the wartime British government led by Winston Churchill obtained legislative consent to postpone scheduled elections and extend the life of the sitting British parliament.

Churchill’s reasons for doing so were obvious and in many ways apply equally to today’s Ukraine.

To me the much larger problem is the billionaires in charge of doing the cutting. Their bank accounts are overflowing with money, while they cut American jobs, and programs people need. I agree there is waste and fraud that needs cut, but just nuking everything is retarded.

The much bigger problem to me is wealth inequality, and nothing is being done about that, it just keeps getting worse. Look into all of Musk's government contracts. Quite the insane conflict of interest right in front of your eyes.
