Can I get some opinions on the role of privateers in SX,MX racing? Who here thinks any SX or MX race can be successful without them? No heats, No LCQ. Let's just say there are 15 factory supported guys. Who would go to the races with just 1 main or 2 motos in each class without them? The privateers are essential for the races and I think they should be able to make enough money from a promoter to make it from round to round on that payout. Parts, gas, lodging should not be subsidized by private sponsors they have or any additional income needed to race a full season.

Sounds like monster jam? Or F1? I don't think that model would be great for our sport, I agree with you, we need privateers. Win on Sunday(Saterday), sell on Monday(or tuesday?) Take away the privateers and you kill the sport. Better to add some incentive for them to keep grinding.

Yeah privateers are vital, I remember in 2023 when there were like 3 factory guys at the last race, watching 3 guys by themselves would’ve sucked, privateers are great

Non- factory riders are the core of the sport.
Max Anstie was a privateer in 2022. Joey Savatgi is a privateer now.

Are you telling me that those riders do not belong on the race track?

The goal of a privateer is to earn a ride on a bigger team or factory team. They need to compete at this level to try and improve.

15 factory riders start a series,...Craig out, hunt out, Jett out, tomac out...and more.

It won't work. Privateers have been part of the sport for yeeeears...

The guys who complain about privateers are the same guys who think they should change the red flag rule. They just don’t like whatever happens that week if it affects their guy or a crowd favorite

Hopefully you have a parent gaming you up on life and teaching you the right things so you step right into a factory ride and don’t have to be a privateer!!!

When a promoter sells out a staduim, that amount to get the privateers to the race is chump change. So if all the privateers decided to " Sit this One Out" or" I'm Hurt and Can't Ride", what do you think the fans at that venue would do? Privateers need to get paid enough to make it to each round. Then any money they get from gear, helmets or sponsors could pay for life. Would you go to work if your boss didn't pay you enough to travel to your job and not break at least even?

Only fans sponsored David pulley and he's not even making night shows.
