Same goes for the, early morning, grubs doing their grocery shopping at the gas station convenience store.

Ringing up bags of junk food and other garbage, holding up people just wanting to pay for their gas, and go.

How about just pay for your gas at the pump like a normal human?  It's not 1955 anymore.

I guess if you did that it wouldn't give you something to bitch about so you can stay on that high horse you think you're riding.  Surprised you didn't find a way to blame Biden and the Liberals for inconveniencing you when you're paying for gas inside like a 90 year old that doesn't know how to use a debit/credit card.

Fuel pump card readers are by far the likeliest to have card skimmers attached to them. I almost always pay inside.

And really, it's the cashier's fault if he cannot ring someone up who brought all the stuff to the counter promptly. When I was a cashier, you could buy nachos and a soda, a 12-pack of beer, and put the change on pump #5, and I'd have you rung up and on your way in less than 10 seconds. Next!
Now, if the aforementioned Mr. Scratchoff Lotto Junky is also bringing a candy bar and then trying to decide which color/flavor/length of cancer stick he wants to buy from the cigarette rack, then wondering why he doesn't have enough money in his wallet to pay for it all, yeah, F that guy.

I cannot imagine going inside to pay for gas, seems like a giant waste of time.

do pumps in your area not allow the chip readers so you can just tap to pay?

Scratch off guy, normally wants to stand there scratching them off, to see if he won, and can get more scratchers. FTG

I wasn't really aware of that to be honest.

I don't think it's a big issue in the parts I frequent.

Mad.

Haven't been to one in years, until recently.

Was up and out the door early one morning.

Needed to change the oil in all three vehicles.

Too early for the parts store to be open, so I hit up the mart.

Definitely cheaper prices on oil, filters, wiper blades, and washer fluid.

And at 6:30am, I beat the pajama wearers, and the shopping cart as a crutch, crowd.

I just read about a small local grocery store that had a card skimmer in the checkout lane, it can happen anywhere. Your best bet is to use the tap to pay when you can.

Walmart has 35 checkout lanes, 2 are open.

But hey the 17 self checkout registers at each end of the store are open for you to do their job.

But then you get there, scan your items, and for fucks sake who designed their plastic grocery bag dispenser?

Those fucking bags stick together like they are glued shut, I have spent minutes fumbling trying to pry the god damn first bag open to put my shit in.

After about the 3rd time trying to get the bag to separate from the other 5000 bags it is so unwilling to leave, I question my decision to enter in the first place.

Every other grocery store I go to, I can do self checkout no problem. You open one bag and load your shit, the other bag comes out just enough to open it.

Not Walmart, pretty sure they just want us to throw our shit straight in the cart and save money on bags. And then get hassled on the way out to show our receipt for purchasing the items they should have bagged for me to start with....

The more I read the tales in here…

The more I like Trader Joe’s and the various farmer’s markets I go to thru-out California.

This what I came out to at Walmart in Scottsdale, AZ this morning. If I had some zip ties that cart would be going for a ride. There were 2 open spaces to the left. Friggin' snow birds

Exactly.

Two things that I never put on credit, or debit,

Gas and groceries.

And for the most part, cash for everything but, building materials.

For which I get a check, at the end of every month, to cover.

If your truck wasn't so nice, I'd advocate turning hard right before backing out.

I never noticed, TBH. There are probably tap to pay things at the pump, but that tech never seems to work for me. I'm not sure why. I tap, slap, hover, brush, wiggle, and otherwise fanangle my card over the machine, and... nothing.

At the very least, when this happens, I will knock the offending assholes mirror on the pivot.   This way, they come out to their car, get in, look over to back out...and then realize the mirror is whack.  Which then causes them to get out and fix it.

I hate inconsiderate jerks.

Seems to be happening more and more often around me as well. And the Chipotle by me (Niles at Eastwood Mall) recently stropped placing the online orders in the rack by the register. They keep them in back now. I asked about it, and as I suspected, they told me people would come in and just grab handfuls of order bags. They got tired of having to remake the orders

Stopped using debit all together other than to get cash out of a bank ATM.     Bastards drained our checking account.  Thankfully, we only keep enough in there to pay bills.   We eventually got it all back through the bank fraud investigation.

Now, we just use a credit card.      Not that CC's are safe by any means....but it's the banks money.      We had one card that kept getting hit with fraud....they'd close it and send another.    Frustrating.   Switched to another bank and it stopped all together.

Cash is a pain in the ass....and we have no way of easily tracking where it goes.    Download everything into a money program.   We like being able to spit out a report at the end of the year that shows how much is going based on categories.     This also helps when you need to look up when you purchased something.

Another benefit of using cash is the business owner gets to keep more of your money instead of paying fees to banks.  All those reward cards we love are funded by business owners paying higher fees.

That said, I still ain't walking inside to pay every time I get fuel 😉

I owned a retail store for over 25 years.  My helpers were instructed to check customers out as fast as possible.  We also had a designated lottery area that customers were asked...sometimes told, to move to.  It takes for ever to get checked out in just about any store now days.  The faster you can get the money, the more revenue the business generates, and the more money everyone there makes.  I get frustrated at the "do you have a customer ID", "did you order on our app", "do you qualify for a discount" questions.  Oh, I understand the information from customers is bread and butter for marketing and inventory purposes, but dammit.

Really you should never ever use a debit card except at an ATM. Use the companies safety structure to your advantage.

Some of the most paranoid people won't think twice about handing their card, complete with number expiration date and ccv code, to any degen waiter, which is funny.

I get a kick out of the old folks who write a check cause they think it's more secure.

Meanwhile every check has your Name, Address, Account Number and Routing Number on it 🤣

Don’t get me started on masks. There’s a couple guys I see in their 30s that work in Walmart and the things I picture doing to them… where’s the machine gun emoji?

What complete pussies.

when some real shit goes down in this world, we all know who will be dying first.

I hate the bad buggy driver as well but what really gets me is the FAT FUCKS that will wait for that handicap spot causing a back up. Even worse their sorry asses will park on the yellow lines (no handicapped tags or displays) then send someone in to get their FAT ASS an electric cart then drive that bitch wherever they please. They don't even look before backing up. It's you job to watch them. A lot of these are fairly young. It's not always just the fat reason. Some just feel entitled to a driving cart. Guess where they leave the electric cart when done? Nope, that same person did not take it back in. Of all the carts that need to be returned. Fat, lazy fucks!

Another pet peeve is the fuckers that don't have their shit ready before getting to a bank teller. But that's for a different topic, another day.

I went through this exact bullshit a couple weeks ago. I fought the first two bags and then said fuck it, started just tossing the shit back in the cart after scanning but apparently that's a no-no also. When the Walmart police boy came over to tell me that the items needed to be placed in the bagging area, I made him stand there and open all of the bags for me. He got the point but looking back on it, I should have asked for the manager and made them do it.
