It's a bit worrying that there seemed to be very few of British 'High End' riders in attendance, at a Classic British race.

Though, the 450s was stacked with a lot of great Euro racers.

Written with apologies for what may be my ignorance of the British scene.

We've always got some confliction between major International events ( seems strange that organizers can't get together and co-operate ) , and I've yet to see if any of the Brit riders were at Mantova(?) on the same weekend.

Ben Watson was at Mantova.

The MX future in the UK is very bleak.

I don't see anyone competing for wins in GPs in the next couple of years. Bust i must say in '24 Brookes, Collmer and Askew showed some results and speed in EMX250 that suggested to me they have the speed to turn into a Jan Pancar or Oriol Oliver type of MX2 career.

Mikula on factory TM? Is it a good bike?

Track held up well. The Yamahas seemed more free revving compared to the low end power sound of the Kawasaki's. Love eyeballing the factory bikes.

The fastest rider in Britain at the moment, Mewse, was racing the Arenacross in Scotland. As was Searle and others. So we didn't get to see the best we have to offer.

Valin was brilliant to watch all day, never saw a mistake out of him.

Collmer raced at my local club at some point last year & got beat by a 50 year old ex gp rider.

ok that may be i dont know. I saw him at Lommel in EMX and Arnhem last year, did not know who he was just a tall guy and he actually had some nice speed in timed practice. I think he was inside top 10 or close in emx250 in Lommel and he was the same speed in MX2 in Arnhem as Oriol, Karssemakers, Weckmann.

I also believe you have to wait to see how Harry Dale will develop, he’s exceptional.

These pre-season races get me excited for the regular season. Hawkstone looks like a badass course! Also, shoutout to Jaume Soler Movies posting raw footage from the fence line; he's got an MX1 & MX2 video and the 125 class.

One thing i did notice while walking round the paddock at Hawkstone was a lead that was connected to the foot brake which goes into or under the engine. Was on most factory bikes. Anyone know what that is?

Most likely a brake snake to keep the brake pedal from getting bent too far.

Makes mostly Enduro vids I think, but always awesome.

He's still only 11 but that kid rips in the sand.
