How come, over this last week, Canada and Mexico got off their asses and got serious about supporting U.S. border enforcement?

Hmmmmmm…

What caused that? 🤔

It’s funny…when you ignore the obvious…again…

They didn’t “do” anything until these last few weeks of Trump.

Thanks for playing along. I got exactly what I was looking for 🤣

To be honest I believe the border issues are a plausible smokescreen for something else. Not that we don't have problems, I've read we check zero rail cars and almost zero coming off the boats at the ports, but I really think there's a lot more to this. And no, I don't think Trump or anyone else wants this tire fire as any state.

So the premier of Alberta had a talk and deferred, reduce the tariffs. So what DT was going to only implement 10m% tariffs on all petroleum imports to the USA.

Well let’s not forget there are on average 4-5 tankers a week leaving Transmountain ( Westridge Terminal )

More than half of those are bound for California

The rest are bound for China. DT ‘s favourite country

What risk is Alberta possibly paying if there is a spill. ……… 0 %

As a Mariner moving petroleum around there is a considerable risk, all the oil carriers around the globe pay for a cleanup, company in the event of a spill.Post Exxon Valdez.

David Eby should impose a 50 % tariff on all petroleum that leaves to the USA.

I’ve also delivered thousands and thousands of tons of lime-rock to Portland Oregon for the roads etc

Fuck it and stop it going to Portland.lets help DT and build the wall he wants…….on the fucking 49 parallel instead.

How many Americans said they would leave the US if DT was the prez ??

Don’t see too many leaving.

David Eby should put a 50 % tariff on the crude oil leaving this province that’s bound for the USA

How about Canada stops importing Harley Davidson bikes.

Eby is an activist idiot who's racked up massive debt for your province.

Yeah, seem like we're in an everyone-is-an-adversary mode with Trump's revenge tour. Attacks on Canada oil is weird, maybe because are viewing it in terms of import/export barrels and nothing else because any degree of nuance exceeds our 144 character limit attention span. We're not well setup for light sweet, which is why we import heavy crude from Canada.....because we need it for our refineries that are setup for it. And it's also why we export our own light sweet, because we're not as well setup to refine light sweet, so it has to leave the country to make space for heavy crude.

Elaborate…and be specific…you’re wrong…so I want you to make your absolute best case, so when it gets dismantled (and it will) you will have no choice but to either disappear from the forum for a while, or admit you are wrong.

Ready….GO!

Been there, done that. Already brought the receipts. But just for shits and giggles-

Dec 17 - Canada announces border package.

Dec 17 - Feb 2 trump goes on and on and on about tariffs and how's there's no way for Canada to avoid them and it's happening no matter what.

Jan - Canada starts preparing retaliatory tariffs, removing American products from our shelves, opening alternative trade options, cancelling vacations to the us, etc.

Feb 3? Or 2? Trump caves and cancels the tariffs with no significant changes to the Dec 17 package.

So he spent 6 weeks pissing off one of his biggest trading partners to accomplish absolutely nothing.

Trumptards are everywhere on Vital and will defend their orange god to the death. Even when the tariffs kick in and they're paying double on Temu for their counterfeit Fox riding gear, they'll still be all in in Trump, and keep buying their Melania meme coins and gold Trump sneakers.

Yeah, I'm laid up after surgery so have more time than usual.

The shitty part is I quite enjoy having a real debate about policy backed up with evidence, but they don't seem to be able to manage that.

Naa, we're just not in a cult.

You are aware being vehemently anti-something (or someone) can, and usually does, also appear cult like, right?

Yes, I was responding to you and MosqueofBrap about your insistence that Trump supporters are in a cult but your lack of self awareness that it may the two of you in a cult.

True, Eby NDP socialists are clinging to small majority government ( we are talking a few votes in certain ridings). The conservatives are close taking control of bc. Than the Trailster will have new problems…..

Ahem…when did The Canadian PM visit maralago?  When those changes were announced by Canada on the 17th, what was the motivation for them, as widely reported in the media, (threat of Tarrifs)…you’re dead wrong on this.  Those changes announced on the 17th were because of the meeting with Trump at Mara Lago…where Trump told Canada there would be tarrifs if they didn’t beef up their border…they are securing their border, so tariffs postponed for 30 days…we will see where things stand at that point.  But make no mistake, the threat of tariffs was the reason for the Dec 17th announcement.

you’re wrong about Canada…care to be wrong about Mexico playing him as well?

No, you're wrong, you're just choosing not to listen. My point, for the final time, is that despite alk the threats and bluster nothing changed between Dec 17 and now.  All the wasted time and energy and he literally took our first offer, couple pennies in the ante and it was all done.

Look dude, no country is threatened by Canada, so just realize that Turdeau made promises to Trump after their visit, and Trump used the Tariff threat to keep the weasel from any delays.

Turdeau is a child, so he has to be reminded these aren't childhood games.
