If it’s not torn, he needs to praise God, that’s a miracle that it’s possibly not torn. That’s insane, but shows you the benefits of doing that when your young.

You trust Doc G to know what an anterior drawer test feels like?

one thing i learned dealing with athlete injuries, whether its UFC , NBA , TOP RANK / PBC BOXING & the NFL , never trust these mainstream publications, id rather wait till either the athlete say something or their manager / agent say something , in Jett’s case like the poster above, withhold assumptions & judgement till they saying post MRI

Hoping he's good. My ACL "felt great" when my doc was manipulating my leg around, then the MRI results came in...

I hyperextended my knee almost 90 degrees after dabbing a foot on a bmx jump, prime health at 25. Very minor tear of MCL, no surgery needed. Took 4 months before I could properly ride again

I understood the clip from Lars to mean that another doctor also took part in the assessment. I know nothing about G's capability in that regard, although given my experience with his profession, I would not have centered him as the source of the diagnosis if I was in Lindstrom's shoes.

While I agree that you don't know til an MRI, the article shared a clip from Lars Lindstrom discussing the situation so I thought it lended at least a little bit of credibility and added clarity to the situation.

I guess I join the ranks of 'Vital Doctors' here, but, watching the video, Jett's Foot goes Inwards, Not Outwards. Inwards rotation suggests a PCL failure / strain, whereas with ACL damage it's more generally from outwards rotation.

I really do hope it was just " a Stinger" as some have suggested.

I've had No PCLs for near on 50 years now, with 6 (more, if I count earlier 'repairs' done in the 70s ) ACL replacements, and, many, many other  Knee ops since I was 16, with my now being 65.  Had my first , much delayed knee replacement last year, to only have the F**kwit Doctor, lie to me, and fit a completely crap knee joint. To say I want to Maim  that f**ker, is an understatement. My RH knee is infinitely worse now, and completely, utterly unstable. And,  the p**k doesn't seem to understand why I've fired him for the LH knee replacement, and have reported him to our Medical Authorities........

I've torn my ACL twice with an "inwards" rotation so i guess you're not a very good vital doctor

You're right, I'm Not a very good 'Vital Doctor'.

But, you might note the word 'generally' there, that I should have applied to my reference to the PCL, as I did with the ACL.

Without my PCLs, my feet pretty much freely rotate inward, and my knee doctors have always said that, and the Tib / Fib being able to slide Backwards in relation to the Femur - called Posterior Draw - , is an example of PCL deficiency. Just as ones foot rotating outwards, with  the Tib / Fib being able to slide forward - Anterior draw - is an example of ACL deficiency. My numerous Sythetic ACLs, helped with outward rotation, and Anterior Draw, until they stretched, or snapped, ( and, as my Cartilage Less joints wore further) then, well, I had  propeller feet .

But Hell Yes, you can destroy each and every part of ones Knee Joint Architecture, in  so, So many ways.

It's a tremendously 'at risk' joint on our bodies, especially on a Motorcycle, but, as my numerous Orthos have said to me, so many of our sports, have become so intense, that the Human Body can't handle the loads. So, they make a Motza, from so many Weekend Warriors ( and Warrioress's - hell, the relatively tame - to so many - Sport of Netball, the largest Female participation sport in OZ, well, the World, it's said,  is one of The Great Knee destroyers. The 'stop and prop' rules, combined with Women's'  Hip, Femur, Knee and TIb / Fib geometry, fills our Ortho waiting rooms, after most weekends).

So, Knee Injuries, Suck.

Mind you, just this Friday night, I dislocated my RH shoulder, when I had a 'roll over' on my  Workshop Welding Chair / Stool - I reached too far to the right for a for some Vernier Calipers , while sizing up  a Steering Head for a frame I'm making, and the casters on that side, rotated, and over I went. My weight, and the height and  tonnage of the Chair / Stool, took out  my (already damaged) shoulder, quite thoroughly.  After so many years of spectacularly damaging myself, I've found truly Silly ways to Axe myself !😂

Id imagine with the Astars guys in the trailer can give a good amount of confidence its not an ACL with doing the tests, we all know what they are if you have done an ACL but still not 100% confirmation but certainly lends some confidence if its stable.

Had flashbacks to Tomacs Achilles with them going to the trailer for an interview, obviously though an Achilles is a very black and white test that's easy to confirm though.

Did you put it back in yourself (seemingly easy for people with multiple dislocations) or go to the ER for a reduction? And to your point, getting old sucks, and those early years of damage do us no justice later on. Hope you are doing well now mate!

I went snivelling to one of my neighbours, who's a Physio, and a Really Big Bloke.

He put it back in in a trice - well, after a few tries. Seems I need a Hulk like him to get the thing back into place, even after so many dislocations.

It was somewhat painful, and, very bloody disturbing - I'll never get used to the awful process. I had to look away at them trying to fix  that young bloke at the SX this weekend........🤢

I  Need the bloody thing fixed, but, there's other things to attend to. It stopped the  use of my Rodeo Kayak at the Olympic Whitewater Center a few Ks away from me , in the last few years. Thought I'd found a great sport, that didn't require good knees, that's pretty bloody affordable, with the Center so near, and only around $30 for an entire day ( and don't the Paddlers whine about the cost - they've no idea  how good they've got it!) , and the River about 80 meters from me, nearly as good as Dirt Bikes, only to find 'bracing'  with a paddle is the perfect way to tear out an already trashed shoulder.

Yes, getting Old sucks, but, on reflection, I have had a Hell Of A Great  time getting this 'ruined', over many decades. You've Got to see the positive side of things, as often as possible.

"Posterior Draw"  demo. My knee is fucked every which way from Sunday and I can still do most things, although it isn't pleasant.  I'm no ortho but hopefully Jett doesn't need surgery. Although if it's as tweaked as it looked in the video he fucked something up in there that isn't going to fix itself.

I had a doctor tell me 100% my ACL was smoked and wanted to schedule surgery right there. My dad pushed for the MRI and sure enough it wasn’t torn.

Yes you do.  Working in an ER for over a decade now and assisting with tons of shoulder dislocation sometimes it's easy but most times we have to sedate them and that's a time consuming process. The key seems to be the person has to REALLY relax and take their mind to another area. If you can get them relaxed enough to not fight it then the procedure is quite simple.

Most people are first, second timers and the pain is great. So, last thing you can convince them of is freely letting someone grab that arm and maneuver it.  They immediately say "you going to put me to sleep first, right? " Or "you going to knock me out, right?"

If we put them to sleep it's a 15 second job for the DR and an hour long (maybe more) process for the nurse and WAY too much charting!!

I feel ya. It hasn't been a year ago that i got my left elbow (tennis elbow it's called) repaired and thought I was doing good. Now evidently I have golfers elbow on my right elbow. Like wtf I don't play either sport.  But shit if they don't make living life at 100% very hard. It affects very simple things you do all day long but thankfully it doesn't bother me to hold onto the handlebars like you would think. I can't tuck my dick in at night (helps avoid getting up to pee for me) without instant pain but I can still ride a motocross track!  Strange life lol

Not sure what caused my shit but I've had a good time fucking shit up as well!! Take care and don't reach too far, get your ass up and walk over there. Lol

Yeah he was looking to schedule surgeries!! No Dr worth a shit would want to do that without the MRI confirmation. I'm also fairly certain insurance would kick that back before getting an MRI. But fuck, insurance is in the bed with everyone so who knows.

Where you in a third world country no DR would ever schedule a surgery without a MRI

He didn’t schedule it, wanted to schedule it. The exact quote:

“Look, you can get an MRI if you want, but I’m telling you your ACL is torn.”

That ACL is more torn than his relationship with Mirtl.

You must have one hell of a loose knee if stability tests indicate a torn acl.

A hammer is always looking for a nail. I've seen surgeons recommend surgeries for things that should borderline be considered medical malpractice to have done without exploring other options.
