Florida panhandle will be getting 2" snow starting this evening. And there are places much farther north with none.

We have two Dachshund's, one went crazy playing in the snow and didn't want to come in.  The other didn't want any part of snow.  We have way more snow now than when I took the pic.  It supposed to stop mid day and sun come out.

I won't be going to the track today.

The south has received more snow than me in NW Illinois. Crazy.

In Minnesota we have been very cold, -20f before windchill but not much precipitation the last month.  We had snow in December, but it got warm and melted most.  Very cold the last couple weeks but maybe warmer by weekend, 30F possible.

20250121 095809.jpg?VersionId=KjJgsQKcARAnJ3BdJSo all these southeast based riders who went back after San Diego SX to test and train instead of staying in So Cal may have made the wrong decision?

We have yet to have any snow at my place in Washington. In fact, we usually have a terrible inversion right now with fog and low clouds, high of 34, low of 31 for what seems like forever.

Instead we have sunshine..... yea!...low of 15 , high of 36.

Funny how it works. Here in Riga, Latvia we haven`t had a real cold or snow this year. It might happen that we`ll go from autumn straight to spring. In my 50 years I don`t remember ever not being able to ice skate on a pond in January and it`s already end of the month.

It started snowing here in Destin around 4 this afternoon, about 4 hours later than expected.
My daughter could not wait as it was her first snow event.

That's just awesome. The drought here is getting really, really bad, feels like the driest winter I can ever remember.

It’s the opposite in the Midwest snow since September. We get snow in April yet that’s 7 months of winter.  Even well into May.  Lastnight as soon as I hit the Mi. Line on rt 31 long patches of mainly ice with blinding blowing snow. Hard pack snow too which is like ice. Then i94 wow that soo bad Super slick with lake effect snow.  A ton of cars, etc in the steel post and cables in the median & in the ditch.  Of course it has to keep snowing today yet.  I,m aprox 40 mi from Red Bud the track is probably under 2 ft + of snow.  Lake Mi. Is close to hear . Last week 220+  mi lake effect Mi. Storm . It took 5.5 hrs to drive 78 mi.  Worst Winter in yrs .  Below zero in Mi.  Wi. Is wayy below zero . Pics 1st stop @ phizer & 3rd stop . February is supposed to be much worse snow & cold in the upper Midwest.IMG 2091IMG 2100 4.jpeg?VersionId=erermRKEpKcU4h3JsC0uC aX2.

I got to watch some avalanche rescue training today at the ski resort and then I walked on a frozen lake just for the fun of it.

I saw a weather channel vid at a ts of a dog that never saw snow. He was going nuts running , hopping up and stuffing his paws in it. It has to feel neat on a dogs paws.  I saw a lot of coyotes roaming hunting this winter in the snow.  Mo. Has 10-12 inches they got alot of freezing rain b4 the snow.  Southern iL. Has 8-10 inches .  Pan handle gets snow I,ve seen it.   Mi. Another storm today .  I crossed Albert Lee Lake in November on i35 . The lake was froze ovr at a red sunset reflecting off the ice looks cool. I think it was -8 last night in Mi.  I was thinking about July red Bud either chics in bikinis.  It seems a life time away .  Worst winter in yrs .  Feb Mi. Is supposed to worse.
