one year, yes. But it started off as Samsung Yamaha (reality of speed team), then they moved over to Samsung Honda, then Samsung sponsored the factory connections team.I believe the Samsung teams was the same as BooKoo.

Cernics Kawasaki didn't actually disappear, they just took their show down a different road. Off season it's the ice rink circuit, and then they head for the great white north having fielded Paul Carpenter, Gibson, Jack Carpenter and Bobby Kiniry, and this year Demuth and Troy Adams.

Demuth is in a very sketchy 3rd in points and Adams is choking back in 11th. Kinry is on Suzuki this season and took the series lead after Colton Facciotti's brutal crash at Calgary.

Just so ya know.

To me it seems there's three basic team formats

1.) Factory OEM.
These team don't count on outside sponsors to go racing, R&D and bike sales is what drives them. Until Yamaha pulled out all of the OEM teams had been around for decades. Yamaha is still supporting the sport but it is interesting how this will work for them in the future.

2.) Inside the industry aftermarket teams ( Pro Circuit, Factory Connection)
Build there brand, sale aftermarket products. Need outside sponsors but are not dead if they lose one, since they are some what self funded by the sale of there own products and services. These teams are fairly stable and have been around for years.

3.) Pure race team.
They sale or build nothing on there own. There only source of revenue is from others or the owners deep pockets. These are the teams that come and go quite often.


It's Interesting that Holigan tried the pure race team approach with Boohoo and Samsung. It will be interesting if he try's it again with Merge racing and an outside sponsor. Merge racing has some cool products but may need a few more.

A deep pocket owners love for the sport can only go so far.

Ya it is Clowers... I have some pics of him at Ponca on 80's when he was #78.
