Not sure if this has been done but here are some stats on how Deegan stacks up against the best riders of the modern era after his first two years on a 250. I added the championship results to look ahead how the other riders continued past their first two seasons.
250SX:

250MX:

EDIT:
Adjusted the MX championship section for Lawrence and Dungey, as they only raced a couple of races in their first year. The table now shows results from each rider's first full season onwards.
Yes wow, Dangerboi is the best.
Can you add MXON stats? 🤣
24 mx starts, 21 wins for James. 🤣

I think all three of his 125mx losses were mechanical DNFs. Nutjob

Hard to overlook how good ‘Poto was too.
Younger they are, the more impressive it is.
I feel like its to hard to make the comparison between the era's. Yes, the numbers are there but at the end of the day who were they racing during those times? Nice spread sheet though. Thanks for adding that.
Nice work overall, except for the 250 MX championship stats. Those weren't the first season finishes for Jett and Dungey, they only did the last couple of rounds, just like Deegan did before his first full year.
Jett and Deegan are even in MX so far:
First full season: 4th
Second season: 1st
Sexton is so impressive to me for how underwhelming (compared to other champions) he was in 250 MX and how he developed to become one of the fastest 450 MX riders.
He has done great the last 2 years but I still feel he overrides the bike
LMAO..... some of you aussies sure are threatened easily.
Good point, Jett only raced three rounds in 2019. I’ll check as I think some others might be the same. I’ll amend the heading to be “First Full Season”.
Threatened? I’m a Jett fan and put up stats showing he was far from the best 250 rider and in some areas Deegan has a better 250 record (so far).
He’s our only hope against Jett… time will tell.
I don't know about only hope, but he should make things a lot more interesting.
You tried and play the other guy for arguing about this topic, only to start a thread and create a database.
Something is fucked in you're brain.
Can anyone translate?
Also...in this case hippy it's "your".
And when did you become nasty? Is this a new thing?
Pit Row
Que? I don't understand what you are trying to say.
It came up in the other thread, and it's a topic that's been mentioned a few times elsewhere so I thought it was worthwhile doing a comparison.
You never know what the future holds, but I'd say out of the current crop of 250 riders I can't really see anyone else beyond Deegan who has shown any potential to step up to that level.
I don't know if he’ll step up to Jett’s level, but Jo on a 450 is pretty impressive. He’s crazy smooth.
You tried to cool guy 654 by asking him if he's OK for discussing this very topic.
Maybe I’m missing something, but doesn’t Haiden only have 22 MX starts?
He did a couple of races in 2022.
Okay. So then wouldn’t Ricky have 25? Since he raced Steel City in 96? I thought it was only comparing the first two, full seasons.
He's my 250f GOAT. Bubba for 125's. RV split a lot of the overalls with Townley in '07. RV in '08 was complete domination. He won 7 Nationals in a row. I'd have to check but I'd wager most of those were 1-1, too
I just watched that TGO this weekend, after GH he didn’t lose a moto until Washougal
I remember watching all those races on the Speed channel. RV was a damn buzzsaw every weekend!
True true, but remember that 1 time James raced a 250F.....
Holla when homie gets a SX title.
Post a reply to: How does Haiden Deegan compare after his first two years on the 250
