Friendly reminder of the 722 licking boots.

As for the moto 'media' MXA, PulpMX, RacerX, DirtBike... etc all knew this and failed to report anything, and now the average joe has one less place to ride. Fuck Rich Taylor, fuck XBrand googles, and fuck anyone else still supporting this shit.

With the endless wave of anger going all around the world on every single matter, crucial or not, I'm sure mankind is on the right track.

"all knew this and failed to report anything"

I had absolutely zero clue there was ever a lawsuit, or anything against LACR until the Cooksey video. Neither did he until a source involved in the lawsuit pushed the story in front of him.

How many years went by before this came out?

How many media people chose NOT to inform you?

Guarantee ML knew, no one cares about US as long as we buy the shit they’re pushing. Dirt bikes used to be about freedom and individualism, not this corporate good ol boys club bullshit where if you’re not part of the clique then you don’t belong. The Owners of the “Moto Media” are literally perpetuating the collapse of our sport. They support this type of behavior and shelter the people who do it.

I found out the day the Cooksey video came out. I do not keep up with local track lawsuits and things of that nature. I've only ridden LACR a handful of times in my life and have no connection to any staff at that track. When the lawsuit story came out, I tried calling a number I was given for the track owner and they didn't want to talk about it.

Okay, I had to remove one more comment from the thread. A user said Rich should be shot and pissed on. I draw the line on physically threatening people harm on the forum, it's in the guidelines.

I’m shocked at the IGNORANCE on here. Laying blame on the Taylor’s & their company is beyond juvenile stupidity. The facts are what they are. Any Family in that same situation would’ve done likewise as it runs its course. Seems the 1 common denominator is the ignorance about it all. I don’t like it anymore than any1 else either, but every1’s anger towards the track closing I get, but beyond that, it’s just business like it or not.

I’m not so sure you are informed on what happened at this particular track and the Taylor’s involvement in its downfall.

Many many people and their families suffer horrible injuries and sometimes even death and in fact do not sue the track it happened at. Suing is the exception, not the rule, and if that ever changes the sport is done.

I'd bet Ozzy knows more about both sides of this than many of us.

A million people have crashed at motocross tracks all on their own and their families don’t run and sue, nonetheless someone who has built their life off this exact sport. Stop being so naive.

Sounds like BS to me. I posted about it and then you sent me an email right away and deleted my post. That was right when the lawsuit was happening. So it sounds like you knew about it all along.

I understand the heat Taylor is taking, but I don't understand how it extends to the media. Have any of those publications you listed ever done a story about a track being sued? Hundreds of lawsuits against dozens of tracks nationwide, I don't ever recall coverage in a major publication. Is this somehow different because it is in Socal? Just doesn't seem like something I would read about in RacerX.

I brought this up back when these threads were all new, nobody liked that.

The moto media reports on the sport at a professional level, they don't report on chicken licks raceway.

I like Eks Brand googles. They were perfect when I took an AJ Catanzaro class and when I ride my Kove on public hiking trails.

Maybe they'll go on sale for black friday and I can get new Eks Brand goggles in bright green to match my spoke skins.

When was that? I was 100% caught off guard when the Cooksey video came out. And yes, in the initial I tried to give Rich the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it was his insurance company that did the lawsuit, etc. After talking to him, I was disappointed to hear he enacted the lawsuit.

You don’t see how a prominent motocross brand owner suing a track is different than some Tom, dick or harry suing a track? How many times has this happened? I’d guess zero. I would think 99/100 business owners in his situation wouldn’t of sued.

Umm because this time the one bringing the lawsuit wasn’t an insurance company but the owner of a company that profits off the users of the track he sued.

This man has the connections that he could’ve ran numerous fund raisers and what’ve received an outpouring of support from the industry and the consumers but nah he went for the big payday instead.

I see how it's different, that's why I said I understand the heat Taylor is taking. As far as whether this case is one of a kind, I wouldn't know because I have never seen a major publication report on a lawsuit against a track. I only know about the lawsuits against the tracks I frequent locally.

Back at the beginning of these threads some of the locals chimed in and said they all knew about the lawsuit. I would have expected one of the locals to make a post on Vital or social media, but either they didn't or nobody paid attention if they did.

IMO they should report on stories that affect the health of the sport. Tracks shutting down affect that health. Track suers affect tracks shutting down. Industry players suing a track should be a big story. That it’s buried goes to show for the umpteenth time that the moto media will do everything possible to protect their own and keep all the skeletons safely tucked into that big ol insider closet. But yeah can see why you think it’s no big deal and don’t understand why we are discussing it.

I didn't say it's no big deal or that I don't understand why it is being discussed. I get it. My mind just can't make the jump to this is a concerted effort by the media to bury a story and protect one of their bro's. I just don't think this is the type of thing they report on historically.

Of all publications I would have expected MXA to give this story a quick blurb because they cover local Socal moto. Do you think they were acting in concert with RacerX, Pulp and VitalMX to bury the story?
