I hate to sound like an old timer, but we just don't see battles like that anymore, or fighting for position. We'd be lucky to see that much battling for the lead over an entire season, much less one race.

That was a bullshit move by Bradshaw. Chicken should have torpedoed him after the race. And that's not the battling I was referring to.

Look at the track. And it's 18 year old technology. Supercross today is follow the leader. How often do you pass someone over a jump unless they aren't doing it? Passing today only happens with block passes in bowl turns and once in a while in the whoops.

I don't know? It looks like to be he missed the rear break for a sec, kinda like he was setin up to square of the corner missed the break and rolled through.
Not saying he was'nt definitely trying to stuff him!

I love this old footage, i remember being in Atlanta and watching Mike Brown and McGrath battle for the 125 win that year! i was 10

Yep, Bradshaw / Stanton was a pretty bitter one for a few years. Stanton got the titles, but Bradshaw almost always had his number in head to head battles and it drove Stanton crazy.

Pontiac 1990 on Saturday of the double header, I remember how pissed Stanton was on the podium in a race where Bradshaw went smokin by and pulled away at Stantons home SX.

X2. He could have easily got around him if he had been patient and that would have been all the differance for LA. Man I loved Bradshaw! Think supercross history would have been alot differant had Bradshaw got the monkey off his back. Also whoever said they looked slow, check how much speed Damon had in that US Open rematch a couple years ago. Lastly the AXO gear smoked the Fox gear back then!

story i heard about stanton & bayle (great to see footage if there is any) at the practice track as you say stanton putting in the laps . bayle about 1/2 a mile away up in the mountain play riding carving his name (bayle) into the mountainside
True story, but I would ride my bike to Hondaland just about everyday and Bayle would be the only one there riding moto after moto. Believe me, JMB did it right, it isn't all about ride, ride, ride, as Chad found out last week.

The best racing was definitely RC and Stewart. Those guys really pushed each other to their limits, and some of the riding was unbelievable when they were doing battle. The outdoor footage from '06 and '07 was legendary.

I'm pretty sure that Stanton and Bradshaw didn't hate each other at all. They were fierce competitors but had a lot of respect for each other.
