Can’t do anything but re anodize it.  Could have bought wheels from dubya for same price you got those for.

To remove the strip you will have to have the wheels re-anodized. If the stripped is etched, the original purple is gone from that area.

Id put some new pads on the brakes for starters. Everyone's MTB is the same way...

Oh also, OP the anodizing is a semi-transparent process done on aluminum and then they dip the part in a permanent color dye...  
If it is etched, the dye is gone and you have to strip and re-anodize the entire rim.   For a single pair that will likely cost more than just buying new rims.

I’d use Lemmy’s Non-Metal Shitty Stripe Remover.

I got mine at Motörhead Paint Products.
