Can confirm they split. I dropped my suspension off in February of this year at AEO in Peoria and it was my understanding that it was REP doing the work, just using AEO as an AZ location. I broke my scapula the first ride back and had to take 6 months off. I recently got back on the bike and noticed a lot of improvement in handling, but unless I landed absolutely millimeter perfect on the landing, the forks would blow through the stroke and just kill my hands and wrists. I contacted REP about dropping the forks off for adjustment and was told that they are no longer associated with AEO and she recommending contacting AEO for the update.
What's interesting is that REP has no record of my suspension being serviced, even though it came back with their stickers. So hopefully when I contact AEO, they don't try to pass it off as REP's problem.
REP outgrew the small space they had designated inside AEO Murrieta and moved into a much larger shop on their own.
Does anybody know why the race team went to Factory Connection can't because REP moved a couple miles up the road to Temecula?
Owner of AEO and owner of REP parted ways.
Correct.
Anyone who uses AEO for service and wants a good local suspension shop should check out Ride JBI. They engineer many of their own parts and JB has been doing it for a long time and knows what he’s doing. They are considerably cheaper than others and are super chill dudes. See them on YouTube under RideJBI.
Biggest Brain 🤣🤣🤣
+1 for JBI. I live up in Norcal, and it's worth it to me send my suspension to him. He currently has mine as we speak.
This is obvious! The question is more directed towards was AEO searching for better suspension performance or did the business partnership simply go sour?
Business partnership ended in a way that had the team searching for a new partner on the suspension side. However, the team also claims they’re very happy with their new setup as well. So you could end up with both answers.
Thanks👍
interesting, I always thought REP was AEO and they just gave themselves a 'house brand' for the suspension side of stuff to legitimize themselves.
How is AEO suspension service now? I dropped two sets of suspension yesterday and today realized that REP is not affiliated with AEO any longer. I thought something was “off” when I dropped off the parts but did not think much of it until this morning when I did a quick internet search. It’s on me for not being up to date.
Big fan of Jeremy and AEO as a dealership, but I’d go pick those back up and take them to REP. Mark @ REP is one of the best out there right now.
Pit Row
Over the years, I have had my suspension done by most of the major players at least once. With a few exceptions, I have been happy with the improvement over stock. When I bought my first European motocross bike, I asked around and one of my friends kids was working for the AEO/REP shop. I talked to him and decided to give them my stuff. In my experience, every other shop just asked for weight, riding type and ability. REP has a lengthy questionnaire to really narrow down what you do and how fast you really are. Admittedly, I got some really nice mods but, those mods also worked unbelievably well. The bike (23 KTM 450 SXF) was like a different bike. After how well that went, I had my offroad bike (a 22 GAS GAS EXC 250 that had been done by on of the most popular shops) redone by REP. Once again, the bike came back like a totally different and way better bike. Unless something drastic changes, I don't see myself using anyone else. It has been that good of an experience.
I've had suspension done by AEO before and after REP. They were both very good. Jeremy and his team know their stuff.
Edited for misspelling suspension... lol
Can’t agree with this. Have a friend, that is no slouch on a dirt bike, had REP do his suspension twice in one week. They screwed up miserably, parts wise, on the first attempt and second wasn’t much different. He ended up sending it off to someone else.
edit: FWIW. This was on a Jap bike, not Austrian.
Update on REP.
I ending taking a set to REP off my 21’ MC450. Dropped off on Tuesday and picked up on Friday! Today I rode it for the first time, and WOW did they knock it out of the park for me!
I’m a VET-B rider at best. Today REP had a technician at Pala. Great customer service! He set my sag, fine tuned my fork height, re-torqued my pinch bolts, and basically gave my bike a quick once over.
Immediately I could feel a night and day difference! Throughout the day I started feeling more and more confident, and the bike became more predictable. The bike felt poppy seat bouncing while allowing me to drive though jumps on the faster sections of the track. I was able to hit inside lines and clear jumps out of corners. Prior to today I felt like I was just riding around making my way around the track. Today I felt like I could attack every section of the track and push my abilities.
Like I said I’m not setting any records out there speed wise, but I enjoy riding and make it out at least once a week these past few months. I use a Garmin watch with LitPro to track laps. Before today my fastest lap on the Pala VET was in mid October at 1:54.94s. Today my best lap was 1:51.00s!! And all my laps were basically under 1:55s
I could not be happier!! Now that the suspension is broke in (abut 2hrs today) next week the REP technician said he will watch me ride and see if we need to make some adjustments.
Top notch customer service! And a very happy customer. Flame on down voters. Haha
What is REP the abbreviation for?
