DC, here's an honest question.

Edited Date/Time 1/25/2012 5:31am
This year, I keep hearing that FIM races are noticeably quieter. WIll we be going to FIM similar rules for next year? You have posted in the past, that sound is our biggest problem. I will add, that GP racing is quite competitive, so it doesn't seem to hurt the racing. Thanks

My hope would be, that if pipes are produced for the pros at a certain soundlevel, that the pipe manufactures will not produce louder pipes for the general public...???

I cut my silencers of or take the packing out just cuz I want the guys to hear me.
Of course the Harley has straight pipes and my truck has open headers!
By the way,...where do you live? I'm thinking about driving by to say hello!!!

LOL!!!

That's a pretty good idea. It's common knowledge that loud equals fast.

I wouldn't mind quieter bikes... two years ago at Southwick I was unable to tel my buddy standing right next to me that I saw something cool on the track. I wouldn't have minded except we were shouting into each others ears and couldn't hear.

There was some talk about adopting the FIM rules but have not heard whether it will be a rule in the USA for 2011.

Call him up. OR? You could fight back by ACTUALLY starting your own series and proving him wrong by being more successful.

Just a thought. Call it something like PRONMX?

I have DC's cell phone, but this is a question that more than I want to know. There are many here that have the same question. Plus one more reason I do not write them. There was a post on here about 3 months ago asking DC and MXsports/ProAMA what is required now for TM, Husky, Maico, Aprilia to compete in the series. When you find that answer, post it here Tiki. I sent a direct email as DC asked and never received on here or email an answer.

Tiki, did you ever believe I actually really wanted to start a series? Just curious what you think.

I've never said anyone has a hit out on me, just you crazy people said that. I posted the exact email I received. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is he on your fab 5? You should call him and then put his answer on here then. Instead of labeling the thread a question for DC, you could have called it An answer from DC.

Actually DC is one of my favorite people in the world. He is a great guy and does a lot for the sport. Find a post I have ever said otherwise. There are others that slam DC, but I do not. i respect him and personally like him. He is also against a wall on certain subjects. $ is always king. Everyone knows it. So all we can do as peons, is bitch bitch bitch. DC could do 100% of what I or anyone else wants, and there would still be people bitching. But if we see something wrong as americans in my case, we keep on hounding the gov't, ProAMA in this case, until we get change. With enough pressure you see changes over time. Look at our country how many things have changed. Some for the better and some for the worse. I believe my pushing sound and 150cc and 300cc is fair and should be allowed. I will keep on pushing for it until it happens.

Back up there. Did I say you have ever said anything bad about him? Pull that tin foil hat back so you can read all of my post. I asked if he was in your Fab 5 or whatever the hell the kiddies call it, in other words is he a guy you call all the time like a bestie.

No doubt, I'm personally for quieter bikes regardless of what level of competition it is.

I do think it's sad though that DC gets called upon to answer up to so many concerns, from so many folks on such a routine basis. If it's getting old for me, I can only imagine how it got old for DC a long long time ago.

Personally , a field of hammering 4-stokes is a royal pain in the ass. Incredibly irritating. Then again I'm 48 and thats an old guys view. I used to live 5 minutes downwind of the local track and racedays used to drive me INSANE! Can't imagine what the people who live across the street think. Out mowing the lawn for 2 hours on a rider and the noise drove me nuts! Absolutely ready to drive to the track and shoot every last loud exhaust guy in the pits. And this coming from a guy who has ridden for YEARS! Still a fanatic about the sport, not the noise. It's killing the sport.

Is there a well established one he could buy? Or did I miss the news that DC started this series from the ground up?

we roasted him pretty good this week on the purse thread.
I'd offer up my services for a free weekends worth of work......he can name the race.

Infinity you are bang on. Thats the way I see it too. Most people would probably love to see the sport go away because they don't participate in it. To them it's just an incredible pain in the ass listening to the bikes. Not a lot of people are of the "live and let live" type, sadly. I've already seen it happen to some personal tracks. The neighbours bitch to town council and POOF! Tracks unrideable. Some riders can take the "Screw you, mind your own business" attitude, but the majority always wins. And we riders are in the minority. It ain't fair, bit it's reality.

What is the repost count on this subject? Are we up to 11 yet? Let's see if we can make it to 11 pages.

The 4 stroke GP bikes would only be called "quiet" in comparison to a dragster. They're just not quite as obnoxiously loud as the AMA models, that's all.

Sorry Tiki, I'm new at this site. Forgive me for assisting in flogging an old horse. A fellow like you has to be somewhat sensitive to the issue living in Cali though, no? What with the C.A.R.B. Nazi's and every other bureau up your asses out there? Recall a time when B.L.M using machine guns to chase those evil dirt-bikers off the desert to save a spotted lizard or something like that and 5 years later sub-divisions over the horizon on the same patch of dirt.
