This is a cool story for sure
Great find. DG was the ultimate along with FMF in the mid to late 70's. Very cool to see the real story documented, there's been a lot of hearsay as to what the real roots to the company were. I had a DG pipe on my 1978 YZ as well as the DG tank decal. I thought it was the coolest thing ever 😀
Very cool to hear all of this from Kevin, Gary's son 👍
I had a DG swingarm on my ‘75 Elsinore. Woulda gave my left nut for a full DG package racer!
DG made cool and fast stuff.

My uncle was a college buddy of Chuck Robinson, in late ‘76 my uncle hooked my dad and I up with Chuck to get me a new BMX bike. We drove to DG in Anaheim and I got to walk the whole place with Chuck and pick out the parts for my new bike. We saw Glover and Hannah’s old race bikes, and a bunch of the BMX bikes while going from rack to rack grabbing parts and filling a shopping basket. Coolest thing I ever did with my dad. I still have that frame..
Great video!
Watched last night.
I bought a dirt mag in 76 with my own money . I had to hide it from my mom. The DG adds with the trick parts was soo cool. Still cool today. Part reason I bought my 04 cr125 is that finned SRS head . I ordered it and a , piston , pipe and silencer paid with a certified check. Then they went out of buisness.
T&M Engineering did motor work and a pipe for me in the 70’s, while living in SoCal. Excellent work 👍 Don’t know whatever happened to them?
They will never be what they were in the 70's and 80's but DG is still pumping out vintage mx and evo pipes every day.
Oh wow I didn’t know that. I bought a DG pipe for my 1st Mx bike 87 cr125 NSR ported for hill climb. 99 bucks from Torque Center it worked Great. End of Lombardi ave sand pit 1990

I stock and sell them at work. Super pricey, but a good option nonetheless.

I used to have posters of theirs from mags on the bottom of my bunk bed. "Made the Coe show go!"
i caught this yesterday on YouTube. Had a DG pipe on my xr75 and everything else I could afford as a kid. During the first part of the video, pause it when they show the catalog of parts with the price list. Crazy shit!
Great times. I've got some old pics like that from 84-86 I've got to find.
that looks like the bike Tom McCallister found and restored. Billy Joyce's bike mebbe?
Pit Row
That’s a great bike! What a great era, BMX was huge and we finally had good bikes to ride. The days of cut down stingrays was finally over!
Mine was pretty much identical except I had red anodized stuff where you have gold. It was kinda controversial, because DG was yellow and blue, and I had a DG with FMF colors. It wasn’t my plan, but when I was at DG picking out the parts they were out of blue wheels and Chuck said red was awesome, I took that as gospel, lol!
Yeah yeah find them Bro. It’s funny I didn’t know they made tear offs at that race. The boots& pants used 60 or 80 bucks, Bradshaw jersey Brenda has it on at the race French girl Beau d wah pronouced. Real fun girl she,d say I get turned on & tingly down stairs for the 125 starts. Yeah Hot. I would force her to make up jokes too. Man she came up with a good 1. See the mouse running down my leg ? I say no. She says , that’s because my pussy just ate it. Whoa haha. 260 rent 2 huge bedrooms & a spare room for the bike, 1990.

Pricey? You’re not into the vintage scene I take it . $ 420 is a steal. Try an LED for 1000-1200, Morris Concepts at 800+, and even the new guy that bought Jemco prices his pipes at over 700 for some. Now granted the three I mentioned are all hand formed cone pipes that are usually pricier than stamped, but a decent pipe at $ 420 for the majority of vintage racers out there is a great option
Had one of those on my 79 CR125
This was like a factory bike to me back in the day. I still have the white JT boots hanging in the garage.
UMMM, after the waterfall pic, what were we talking about???
I was sponsored by DG in '76 as an 18 yo 125 pro. My yellow 125 Elsinore.
Vagina dentata
79 Love that bike. I was 12 and had the cash from working for farmers. But my mom wouldn’t let me buy it. I was tall enough for the 100 or 125 but I thought the 80 was soo cool lookin.
That’s a 1980. The ‘79 had the box fenders.

Stylish as hell rt there. Living the Dream
You do know he's DC Plastic ? I'd say he's HEAVY into vintage
