My money is still on Suzuki to win that race, they announced long ago their intentions to go electric, their dirtbike segment has been stagnant for years, they are still sponsoring MX races proving they are not going anywhere, they have well-kept secrets coming I am telling you. I hope I am wrong, that is the one brand I do not want (sorry guys, I do not like yellow).

New KTM freeride E presented tomorrow (gen 1 released in 2014, gen 2 in 2017). I doubt it would be competitive with the Varg, it's a different market (trail/beginner bike) but hopefully they'll prove me wrong.
By the way 2017 was also the year when Honda revealed its electric prototype. I hope they're about getting ready to release it, that was such a looooong time ago!
And just for the fun of it, I'll bet Ducati releases an electric MX bike before Suzuki 🤣
Yup, hurricane caused a gas shortage and was impossible to get gas last week here near Tampa.
We still had electricity though so charging her car was easy.

Suzuki doesn’t even have an R&D team developing bikes so I really doubt they will be the first major with a e motocrosser.
I did. Reality is that I will more than likely do a YZF conversion or wait til Honda or whoever comes out with one. I am glad Stark customers are mostly happy with the bikes, I probably would have been too. But the fuckery with the early deposit folks like me has soured the enthusiasm for the bike/brand. People can thumbs down all they want, it'd have to be a fantastic deal to have a Stark in my garage at this point.
But what if the power went out? Or they turned it off.
Then there would be no power to pump gas.

You cant pump gas without electricity either. so You need power and gas being delivered. There is also a certain amount of gas in every station that is owned by the government that they can not sell. At least that was what I was told by a Cumberland farms manager when they "ran" out of gas. They said they still had X amount in the tanks, but could not sell it because the government owned it.
With a good solar panel system You can charge as long as its light outside. So as long as the sun comes out , and the storm has not destroyed them. Even on cloudy days. And a well built system would also have storage for power to help get through those days.
You can also make Your own biodiesel , but how many people are refining their own gasoline in their backyards?
Really You can end up screwed with either type of vehicle depending on what happens.

Yes it still runs the same as when he bought it. Eva’s don’t have all the parts that break down like gas cars. And tires so if you drive a gas car 750,000 miles you won’t change tires??
Something to be said about how easy the buying process looks, all the pricing and fees are right there and you can buy it with many different forms of payment and it shows up to your house.
I have solar and Tesla powerwall so I will never be without power. And you don’t need a stupid generator. But I have knowledge to build battery packs also so if I go electric bike route I would build a battery pack and never need a generator and also never need the power grid. I had a battery pack for my sons ktm ebike and it worked great. But people love the stupid generator and what if the grid goes out argument.

I've been on the fence to get a Stark for a while now but never pulled the trigger. Thanks to this thread making me aware of the little discount they rolled out, I should have a grey 80HP Varg in my garage within the next 10 days.
I earn a living in the oil & gas industry and love race fuel, but it's hard to beat the power curve of an electric engine. I am excited to get my hands on this thing!
2 freinds built them for SM, put a ton of money into them but they wont last a race without overheating or running out of power, looked great , but made one appearance.
That's a bummer to hear they won't work for something that 99.99% of dirt bike owners will never do. 😘
I'm an SM rider as well. Saw one at the track the other week and dam it was fast...while it lasted.
Appears the range/performance is even worse when on an SM track. That right here is a deal breaker for me and takes the Varg off the table. I'll just keep ripping my 450 SMR.
